23.01.2022 Facebook keep doing things with algorithms and other things. Quite frankly I’m a little tired of it. A little while back, Zuck made another ‘tweak’ to the ‘algorithm’ so that business pages won’t get as much prominence as they used to. I’m totally ok with that, and to be perfectly honest, I reckon my personal feed has gotten a little more interesting because of the change.... I can now see all my friends off in faraway places having fun, and slightly fewer ads of the weird thing I was just talking about that then manifests itself as an ad in my Facebook feed. Having said that, there are of course a few companies that I do still want to be noticeable in my feed. At the top of the list is, you guessed it, Meeum. https://www.meeum.com/articles/top-of-facebook-feed/

19.01.2022 If you’re anything like us, you’ve got at least four million ideas flying through your head at any one time. Whether they're ideas for a business, a new app, a new type of fork or a blog about how to make the perfect bowl of porridge, the one thing you’re going to want is a snappy name. And with a snappy name comes, of course, a domain name. We get this question asked quite a bit at our workshops, so here we will answer- how to find your perfect domain name and where to buy ...it. https://www.meeum.com/articles/find-domain-name/

16.01.2022 This is an interesting read on why marketers need to understand code and technology, and indeed that the techies need to have a grasp of marketing and strategy too. "Research firm McKinsey found that companies whose CMOs are integrators who work with their counterparts in IT to achieve company goals grow their revenues at 10 percent per year twice as quickly as the average S&P 500 firm. ...... At a time when CMOs are spending more on technology than CIOs, it takes both teams to deliver great customer experience. Marketers may be experts at connecting with consumers, but IT has the tech knowledge to do so at scale. By meeting in the middle on martech often, something neither team fully understands they might finally see the value each team brings to the table." https://marketingland.com/bridging-the-gap-between-it-and-m

15.01.2022 "Is building websites something I could start as a side job? I’ve got a career at the moment (nothing to do with technology) but am interested in building websites. I’ve played around a bit with Squarespace and have looked at some online HTML courses and like what I see. Is it the kind of thing you can ease into over a year or two before trying to switch careers or do you think I need to go at it 100%?" Great question, dear reader...... https://www.meeum.com/articles/web-dev-side-job/

12.01.2022 In the world of website analytics and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), one of the most feared things a website owner can hear is you have a high bounce rate. A high bounce rate actually shouldn’t be feared, and in many cases can point to having well-written content and loyal readers. How so? I hear you say I’m glad you asked... https://www.meeum.com/articles/high-bounce-rate/

11.01.2022 Technical SEO refers to how well search engine spiders can crawl your site and index your content. Unlike other pillars of SEO, Technical SEO has nothing at all to do with the content (the words) on your website. There are three main parts to SEO:... On-Page deals with your content. Off-Page deals with who’s linking to you. Most SEO courses, books and agencies stop there. Technical SEO deals with the code behind it all that makes your site visible to search engines. In short, it makes sure that Google can read and understand what your site is saying. Pretty important, amiright? And, Technical SEO is way more than just having your title tags in the right spot! https://www.meeum.com/articles/what-is-technical-seo/
