21.01.2022 Sculpture on the Edge is an outdoor sculpture prize held on the escarpment of the stunning Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Maleny. Held annually, at Spicers ...Tamarind Retreat it attracts renowned artists from all around Australia. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the picturesque 18-acre property which provides a unique setting for site specific works and installations. Awards will be announced on 31 October 2020 and the public are invited to attend this twilight viewing and opening of the exhibition. Mingle with the artists and join us for drinks and a travelling feast from 3.30pm onwards. Now in its tenth year, Sculpture on the Edge continues to grow. With the kind support of sponsors and partners, primarily Spicers Tamarind Retreat and the Sunshine Coast Council, they are able to deliver to art lovers and visitors to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland an amazing art experience. The exhibition opens on October 31st and continues until 15 November 2020. 20.01.2022 Given the extraordinary and unprecedented situation in which we find ourselvesand the uncertainty of Covid-19 restrictions being liftedit is with a heavy hear...t that we announce the cancellation of Holmes Acquisitive Art Prize for Excellence in Realistic Bird Art 2020. We have been working hard for that last couple of months to put everything in place for a ‘bigger and better than ever’ 2020 competition and exhibition; we were looking forward to working with Australia’s best bird artists and sharing this truly amazing and unique bird art experience with visitors to the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve (attendance at the 2019 exhibition broke all records!) Although painful, we are convinced we are making the right decision. With brighter days and renewed hope ahead, let’s look towards 2021. 12.01.2022 Make sure you plan a visit to the Chromatica exhibition over the long weekend. Chromatica is a celebration of colour showcasing over 40 local artists at The Zon...e Gallery in Maleny. The Exhibition is the coming together of artists wanting to explore their connection with colour and how they use it to respond to the world, express emotion and cultural identity. The exhibition will include prints, photographs, sculpture, jewellery and woodwork and is a celebration of some of our region’s most talented emerging and established artists. The exhibition continues until Monday 26 April. The Zone Gallery is located at 89 McCarthy Road, Maleny and is open from 10am until 3pm daily.
