12.01.2022 I have more horses in to find their new homes! Pedro 8yo, 16hh gelding, Sire: Roswood Rise Romicus ... Dam: Nefertiti (TB) Has been with us for 10 weeks to bring back into work after a 18 month spell. This was due to his rider having to have a knee surgery (not from anything to do with horses!) then just as she was going to start riding again covid hit so she kept him turned out but this lead to her deciding to give horses up totally. So now he is with me. Had done pony club and local show jumping at 1m (he likes a Speedi jump off) has been to the rural ag shows with rides and what not around the arena. And is not phased. Hadn’t done any Xc until he came here and he’s really enjoying this schooling. Does a nice quiet test as well. Very eye catching movement and body with a fantastic natural top line. Has plenty of talent and scope to do much more in any discipline he’s a real all rounder. Lots more video I can send. Has put in the occasional buck or shy over the 3.5 years we have had him. Easy to yard/stable/paddock at comps and at home. He is more on the lazy side and easy going. Enjoys cuddles and is a people person Competed dressage up to elementary and was runner up Elementary champion at the MCDC championship 2021, winner of the high point rug in Southern Zone pony club Preliminary2018, Novice 2019 and Elementary 2020. Has done many show jump comps and show jumped up to 110cm, placing 3rd 110cm at the Young rider carnival at Mt Gambier 2019 and 2nd 110cm State Championship 2020, pony club comps won 95cm and 110cm and also won B grade pony club level. Won Canoe tree horse trials Eva 80 and won pony club state championships grade 3. Has competed successfully with wins and placings in pony club grade 3, 2 and 1 and Eva65, Eva80 and Eva95 and trained up to 2 star. And success in combined training competitions up to 1 star. He has not had any lameness Currently in full work. He is very capable and has great talent and athletic ability but we feel that the pressure of the requirements at the higher level with his current rider caused an inconsistency in his jumping performance. So we believe he would be most suited and happier to be with someone wishing to compete at jumping levels up to 1m...... but with a different rider he may well excel to his true potential. As you can see in the video he is a very natural smooth jumper. Tonto is such a gem and at that super hard to find height. Not to big and not to small. The perfect Intetschool mount as well. And as A Extra Inclusion in your horses stay they ...will have some sessions at our Equine Advancement centre in the water treadmill and or Mineral Spa!! At no extra cost. 02.01.2022 Sydney cross country day Had its ups and downs for sure. Jesus started out super in the. 95cm galloping well in the super heavy going out the back. He made t...ime and is now in 2nd place. What a good boy. Lando well let’s say he has learnt a lot from today. Unfortunately for the organisers they day just kept running later and later and by the time we went out it was running just over and hour late. And with the time table set with a finishing time of 4pm they really couldn’t afford to run an hour late with loosing day light. So the decision was made to run the 3* classes long and short at 1min intervals. This proved to be not the best thing at all. Because we did a loop through the main arena going in and coming out the same gateway. This was between mins 2 and 3 and the main arena jumps were 6 and 7 so the riders really looking to make time they would be way up on their first few min markers. So there was always a huge chance that a rider would be held and have to circle in the main arena before heading out to allow the one behind to enter. This happened to me so once I circled and slowed down to do so then had to speed back up the rider behind me was now even closer. So by the time I got to fence 10 unknowing to me the rider behind was closing in rapidly. Then by the time I got to the first water at 13 I had to circle .... twice!!! While she went through the water. So as well as loosing a huge amount of time that I never should have had to loose. .... then as Lando is quite sensitive he tried dropping off the bit and switching off. So the ride through water was not very pretty and the we had a coffin and a coupe of sharp turns after the water and he was really sensitive in his mouth and not take if my hand at all. By the run up the him to 17 I just gave him the rein and let him run and he jumped the next 4 fences and combinations nicely. But then coming down to the double of Apex’s on a curving 6 I saw the flag had been replaced after being knocked off the A element. The jump judge, I’m sure was in a huge panic with 1 min between horses to fix the flag, had fixed it but as it was zip tied on not in a sleeve the flag triangle flag bit was facing in towards the apex making the face of it even skinnier plus it was in a angle pointing in on the apex so lando in his greeness (so it felt like) tried to also jump the flag resulting in him over jumping again just when I had got him settled. He did get to the B and jump it clear. Then I let him relax again up the hill to the opera house. Then down to the super hard last water complex. And again the sensitivity came back and he was fighting me so wouldn’t get his bum under himself coming down the hill. We got the line and angle to the log then the huge hanging log into the water but he jumped off to the right and jumped huge and green and steep and landed flat footed and did a trot step on landing making the very forward 3 strides to the skinny table in the water event longer and didn’t get his eye on in or move up to it. So half jumped the side. I had to make a decision do I even try and represent? I gave it a go ....trying to get him to canter again in the water but he had had enough and really didn’t want to play anymore. So I retired with a horse that can play another day. It was a huge ask as it was his only 3rd 3 star run and only his 7th event so still a long road ahead for Lando. He’ll come away fitter, stronger and wiser but just with no rosette this time. 02.01.2022 Tools down !!! So James may not be a builder however he and his apprentice have done a incredible job putting the new stables together. Just one more box to fi...nish off and we are finished. I will do a stable tour however here is a sneak peak at my new office a d the horses new bed rooms. I must say I do feel like i’m living the CHC’s (crazy horse chick) dream right now. Thank you baby!!
