22.01.2022 The Importance of Posture & How it Relates to Injury - it is easy to add a bit more plaster to a crack in the wall, sand it out and paint over it. However, if the weakened and shifted foundation of the house is left as is, the visible cracks in the wall will return. At some point the "patch and go" approach no longer works thus forcing a larger intervention, perhaps and renovation or reconstruction. The same is true within the Body! We can continue to treat the symptomatic co...mplaints with anti inflammatory medications, modification of activities or simply pushing through the pain, all leading to further dysfunction adding layer upon layer of structural and neuromuscular adaptations. IF we return to looking for the causative factors of inflammation, discomfort or poor performance, we will more likely be successful in selecting the best intervention to alleviate dysfunction and become pain free human beings.
