11.01.2022 Latest Iron Chef challenge : quinces A friend gave us 30kg of quinces...that’s a lot of quinces...they smell Devine but are hard to prepare. I can’t give them away, and the alpaca spit them back at me...fortunately the Thermomix made short work of a laborious recipe...Ash made quince paste manually yesterday ..it took him all day, the process involved pushing a sloppy fruity mixture through a sieve, and four hours of stirring and cooking...... Today, was my turn. The Thermomix recipe took two hours from start to finish..and I didn’t need to stand and stir it at all...perfect quince paste... recipe on Cookidoo: https://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r374895 I did cheat even more...I put the quince in the slow cooker on low for ten hours first...skin just slipped off...anyhow..Ash is now a convert to the wonders of Thermomix..... Tomorrow..I’ll dip the quince bits in dark chocolate..for a special treat for a friends birthday.
