10.01.2022 So as a final wrap up to the Body Peace process I spent a beautiful morning frolicking in my backyard with this beauty Melea Apps and this is what she had to say about the whole process..."For far too long I’ve wished I had a flatter tummy, thinner thighs and perkier boobs. Exposed to magazines in my teens the bar was set for what a woman’s body ‘should’ look like. That shit is crazy - covers tirelessly scrutinising celebrity bikini shots, advertising diets and constant comme...ntary on lost or gained weight. Body comparison and self judgement continued in the world of social media, ever feeding a ‘not enough’ narrative that continued to haunt me through my 20s. I’m done with that script and am finally beginning to find peace with my body as it is now. After jumping into the 12 day Body Peace Process I began to chose acceptance over criticism and started a new dialogue. When Meg asked me to be in some pics for Evohe it felt like the perfect celebration (despite doubt trying to convince me otherwise). We had so much fun and I felt safe under her creative guidance and (mostly) comfortable in my skin. At one moment during the shoot doubt began talking and I was able to pull it up in the moment and really let go of that old worn out story. When seeing the pics part of me cringes at my belly rolls, awkward angles and natural breasts. However, that cringe quickly turns to joy as I feel the importance of bringing more real bodies to social media. It’s time women felt empowered in their bodies, embracing their individuality rather than striving to conform to society’s beauty standard (that is often so unattainable for many of us). I am finally ready to just be me." See more
04.01.2022 Many of you would know I wrote a book about women's menstrual cycles ...for men. I am in awe at how deep the layers go with this stuff. I am learning more and more about myself and what it is to be a healthy woman. This was a little insight I had in my recent Autumn phase - aka PMT time. H O L D S T E A D Y The Powerful Magic Time can find itself turning into Powerful Medicine Time.... When the energy can turn inwards and we are still in connection with those around us. When the boundaries hold steady and the awareness is turned to what is uncomfortable. What needs attention and what needs medicine. I held steady on some shame that had surfaced. I held it gently. I leant towards my resources and was held in return. It passed and I held steady into my bleed. Autumn passed in a flash of colour, I hold steady.
