14.12.2021 This patient hadn’t been to the dentist in a while and had noticed her gums had been bleeding when brushing. Bleeding gums when brushing/flossing is often a sign of inflammation of the gums. If left untreated, gum disease can progress to gum & bone disease... bacteria from the mouth can even enter the blood stream, and has even been linked with heart disease! So it’s important to visit the dentist every 6 months for your maintenance appointments.. and in between, do your bes...t to keep up the brushing 2/day and flossing 1/night. The patient also told me she had always had a chipped front tooth and asked if I could fix it in the same appointment. I noticed a bit of hypomineralisation on her upper front right central incisor. I didn’t have to numb up the tooth and was able to polish off some of the weakened enamel and then replace it with a stronger white filling/composite.
