25.01.2022 It's easy to get your 4 x $25 Dine and Discover vouchers through the Service NSW app (take that from someone who is not so great with technology). Spend a few minutes getting your vouchers, and you should have them within the hour, ready to kick off your weekend. For more information https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/campaign/dine-discover-nsw... If you don't already have the Service NSW app, you can download it here https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/campa/service-nsw-mobile-app

25.01.2022 Great news! The NSW Government has extended the Dine & Discover vouchers until July 31! My family used our discover vouchers at Symbio Wildlife Park the other week - the kids loved getting up close to some of our native and familiar animals. Feeding the kangaroos and wallaby’s was a highlight. Over 4 million people in NSW have downloaded their vouchers, but if you haven’t got your 2 x $25 to dine and 2 x $25 discover then simply go to Service NSW for more info. (Have a... look at the video I posted on Facebook recently to see how easy they are to claim). Where will you use yours?

24.01.2022 Fellowship Baptist Church Moorebank are now shooting hoops at their brand new mini basketball court. This was able to be built due to assistance from the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership Program. It was great to visit Shane Bywater and the other members of his Church to see how excited they are to use their new court.

22.01.2022 Did you leave school in 2020? If yes, are you looking for a little boost in your skills and training? We know Covid made it a tough year for you so the courses are free! Find more info at https://education.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/summer-skills

21.01.2022 Do you forget to Check Out after using the QR code to check in somewhere? I do. After question time today I caught the Minister for Customer Service and Digital, Victor Dominello MP to tell him that I’m good at checking in, but sometimes forget to check out. I asked him if there was something that could be done and happily he had a solution! Just open the Service NSW app, click on the cog wheel (top right) and you can choose a length of time to be reminded to log out. Too e...asy! Logging out is really important - as we’ve seen, it matters when NSW Health determine who may or may not need to go into isolation if there is a Covid case in the community. While you are setting that up - have a look at the bell icon too - it’ll make sure you know all the latest rules and restrictions in place to help keep us safe from Covid.

20.01.2022 One of our local families is going through a terribly hard time with their little girl being given just a short time to live. Their story is both heartbreaking and full of love. Please consider supporting their go fund me page if you can.

18.01.2022 Went from speaking in the Chamber to the NSW Parliament’s #biggestmorningtea for the Cancer Council NSW today. Love being able to take a moment to support a good cause and have a cuppa too!

18.01.2022 The first NSW Government Parking Summit was held today in Casula. This meeting looked at ways we can improve customers' parking experiences right across Sydney. One way that we are doing this, is through the use of technology and the digital space. Thanks to Minister for Digital, the Hon. Victor Dominello MP, for addressing this summit to champion this view.... We have already seen the benefits digital advances can have on parking, such as the NSW Government's Park’nPay app, which is already live in the Liverpool Council area. This app uses technology to save drivers precious time and allows them to manage their parking from anywhere. A new feature also means that you can "park now, pay later" - ensuring that customers only pay for the time they have actually parked and saving them money. For more information visit www.parknpay.nsw.gov.au

16.01.2022 FIRST ELECTRIC BUS FOR THE SOUTH WEST I joined the Minister for Transport, Andrew Constance MP, and the Member for Camden, Peter Sidgreaves MP, at Leppington this morning to announce that the first electric bus has been rolled out in our region. Of the 50 that are going to be on the streets of Sydney this year - 10 of them will be in South West Sydney, with interline (the bus operator) rolling them out progressively.... These buses are better for our health, the environment and they are much quieter than their diesel counterparts - which is big win for commuters and residents alike.

13.01.2022 Was lovely to join Gladys Berejiklian and Wendy Lindsay MP East Hills at Liverpool Hospital this morning to announce an amazing milestone of the NSW Government's Baby Bundles. Across NSW, more than 200,000 newborns have received a Baby Bundle of essential items, each valued at $300. The Baby Bundles help to ensure parents are receiving important information and supplies during this time. It's amazing that already so many newborns have benefitted from this program!

10.01.2022 Let there be light Wonderful evening last Wednesday, joining with Moorebank Rams Rugby League Football Club to officially turn on their new lights, at their home ground. I was able to assist the club secure these new lights through a $57,000 grant, from the Community Building Partnerships Program.... Can't wait to get back down there and watch one of their next night games.

08.01.2022 There has been waaaaaay too much traffic backing up around St Mark’s Wattle Grove already this year - last year I wrote to Council, as it’s one of their roads, asking for them to take it to traffic committee to find some solutions. They told me they would wait until the construction at the school had finished before reviewing the parking arrangements. This isn’t good enough! Traffic was moving better today because they sent rangers down. They need to do this more often to e...nsure that traffic keeps moving smoothly and safely. Then they need to implement some long term solutions to fix this once and for all. Please sign my petition to Council, to add your voice to these concerns www.Melaniegibbons.com.au/wattle_grove_traffic

06.01.2022 Restrictions extended. To safeguard the community and reduce the risk of further transmission, the NSW Government has extended, by one week, the temporary COVID-safe measures for the Greater Sydney region (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains). There is one change to the existing orders, which removes the requirement for retail customers to wear masks, however public-facing staff in retail outlets must continue to do so.... The following measures will now be in effect until 12:01 am Monday 17 May. Visitors to households are limited to 20 guests, including children. Masks are compulsory on public transport and in public indoor venues such as theatres and gaming areas. Masks should also be worn in hospitals, and aged care facilities. Masks are not required in gyms or other similar facilities like indoor pools or dance studios. Drinking while standing up at indoor venues is not allowed. Singing by audiences at indoor shows or by congregants at indoor places of worship is not allowed. Dancing is not allowed at indoor hospitality venues or nightclubs however, dancing is allowed at weddings with a strong recommendation that no more than 20 people should be on the dancefloor at any one time. 2 Visitors to aged care facilities are limited to two people per day. In relation to hospitality venues and retail outlets, masks must be worn by customer-facing staff. Patrons and customers do not have to wear a mask unless they are in the gaming area of a hospitality venue.
