24.01.2022 You might not know this, but one of my things is I'm pretty solution based and can keep a pretty clear head to get things done when I'm in situations of high stress. It's one of the reasons I actually became a coach because I wanted to help other people move away from their stress to create better solutions to living. Recently I've been in a situation with my husband's health which to say my stress levels are high would be an understatement and it got me thinking about pr...icing and services. I'd always been taught to value my worth and what I have to offer given the amount I have invested in my own education and life experience but you know what... sometimes when we price high we are unable to help a lot of people who really need our help - and given my purpose is to help I've made a bit of an epic decision that for now feels right. While I continue to work with what is going on with my husband and his health I have a limited amount of coaching space for 1:1 but I have decided to change my prices to make them more affordable. - head to the link in bio to get in contact or find out more. 18.01.2022 The Unlearning - part 2 Throw out your to do list and get rid of your phone Extreme right?... Heres something to ponder I was reading Glennon Doyles book UNTAMED recently about Ed Sheeran quitting his iphone which then expanded out to me thinking about stress/anxiety and how and when it became a thing in this modern world. I have long believed in a list to get things done AND I love that I can think of any question in the world and hello google has the answer for me ( you can also refer to me as doctor melanie as my self-diagnosis and cancer care are now definitely worth the title ;) BUT Another thing I noticed is how my husband is very rarely stressed about anything and has not a care in the world apart from the slightly bothersome cancer story but I digress He does not list make and pretty much never gets on his phone to google/facebook or any of the above hence my ability to be able to write about him ha I decided to conduct a little experiment/research to test my theories on stress/lists and google...I think Im on to something that the hustlers and boss ladies will probably revolt against +++++ There are seasons in life where lists are needed and important - I get it but what if I said that if you wanted to do the things on your list - they would already be done or what if I said the very list is starving you from your creativity? 13.01.2022 The Unlearning is the Knowing. When I look at this picture 7 months after my world was turned upside down I finally see a deep sense of knowing and trusting. Ive been uber conscious of all of the noise and what has felt like should be doing should be feeling and the deep sense of judgement and comparison that comes with not having the space to write your best selling novel, not having the energy to learn french, not having the capacity or motivation to study... This time for me is a gift in unlearning and listening. When I was 21, I flew to the USA for a holiday by myself. I remember when I arrived in NYC - I had a choice to let fear keep me inside in the night time hours and I remember clearly telling myself you only live once...you didnt come here to sit inside - this is your time to shine. I was lucky enough to meet and be shown around the city of NY by some locals who I have stayed in contact with sporadically over the years.
