24.01.2022 We hope you’ve all enjoyed your week so far. This week we had the young sewer’s class making Monkey appliqué throw cushions. Lorraine, our Wednesday dressmaking teacher, has completed her machine embroidered quilt (it fits a king size bed ). And Robyn Skinner, another talented lady has completed her tone on tone Fantasia quilt. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of hours gone into these beautiful quilts!

22.01.2022 All the talented ladies have been overjoyed since classes have resumed. Raelene brought in her finished heirloom BOM quilt during Monday’s heirloom class. It is incredible the amount of work that goes into these types of quilts. All the fancy stitching techniques turn this quilt into a work of art.

20.01.2022 Lest we Forget. For Anzac Day, we will be closed on the 25th of April but will be open Monday 27th at 9am. Have a good weekend everyone. The Anzac Day tribute featured is made by Karen Kowalick.

20.01.2022 Another update from Melann’s! We have just restocked our low pill fleece in black, navy, light and dark grey. These fabrics are great to use for all your winter projects and come with matching colour ribbings (patterns in last pics for inspiration). Bernadette is busy sewing up beautiful samples and Christina has finished the ‘Barnyard Buddies’ quilt. The border was cut using the Accuquilt GO! Cutter. At the moment, classes are still on hold and we are still unsure when they will resume. When you receive your newsletter in the mail that means we have resumed!

20.01.2022 Steve has been very busy servicing and repairing all your machines dropped off at the shop. He is making a special trip down to Patchwork by Sea in Morphett Vale on Friday 5th June. You will be able to drop off your machine at Patchwork by Sea to have it serviced and/or repaired on Friday. Please call their shop first to book your machine in on 8384 8881. Payment for servicing is cash only.... Enjoy your weekends everyone!

18.01.2022 Due to the Queen’s birthday long weekend, Melann’s will be closed on Saturday and Monday and will re open on Tuesday 8th June at 9am. We wish everyone a safe and happy long weekend! In the meantime, here is a photo of a lampshade decorated in Zundt lace butterflies

16.01.2022 We hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day! Today, some restrictions were lifted however workshops will still remain closed until further notice. Everyone is keen to get back to classes (including us teachers) meaning we will try our hardest to have workshops running as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have been busy sewing clothes and projects for future workshops. We are still open normal hours and Steve is still busy fixing and servicing machines. We hope you are keeping well during this time.

14.01.2022 Hello everyone, Due to corona virus restrictions, Melann’s will be closed from tomorrow 19th November and will re open on Wednesday 25th at 9am (if everything goes to plan). We have soft mask elastic here as well as patterns to hand out. I will stay open till 6:30pm tonight to cater for any last minute purchases and pick ups. Stay safe and keep calm! Wear your masks and stay indoors, use this time to work through your fabrics stashes!

10.01.2022 The Basic Quilt Class is fast approaching and already starting next Monday on the 31st of August! We have one spot left so jump in quickly! This is a perfect quilt top to make if you are a beginner or just love these beautiful colours. Please note: this class is for the quilt top only.

07.01.2022 Lockdown restrictions are now lifted meaning Melann’s will re open Monday 9am on the 23rd November. We hope everyone enjoyed the brief break from normality and we look forward to seeing you at the shop! 05.01.2022 Some beautiful Anna Maria Horner fabric designs have arrived at Melann’s! This is her new range called ‘Hindsight’ and we have the fabric available in fat quarter packs. The Melann’s team has been busy planning to make the return of workshops as smooth as possible, more news to come. We hope everyone has been doing well since our last post. Melann’s really appreciates all the support you gave us during the restriction period and we are excited to be returning to normal soon!

03.01.2022 Hello everyone! During this time with no workshops, Bernadette and I have been busy taking time to catch up sewing for the shop (and ourselves). This time I’ve decided to postpone the workshop planner mail out and have instead updated our newsletter which can be seen under the ‘Workshops & Info’ tab on our website. Steve is keeping busy by servicing and repairing machines and it is lovely to be visited by customers in store (still following protocols for Corona Virus). We all hope you are doing well and staying busy!

01.01.2022 Please note that Melanns will be closed for the Labour Day long weekend. This Saturday and Monday will be closed and we will re-open on Tuesday 6th October at 9am. Just for happy memories, here is a video of one of our ladies, Jean, finding out her husband has purchased her the Pfaff Creative Icon. She has not stopped smiling since she received it.
