13.01.2022 Andrew took Jake on a thrilling ride in a 4x4 as an early birthday present, and together, they had an extreme mud-riding adventure. They drove through the dirt-covered ravines and outcrops and braved the rugged terrain in style. It was an action-packed day, and Jake was all smiles after the amazing off-road experience. 12.01.2022 Melba has recently launched its LifeWorks wellbeing portal which is an innovative app available to all Melba staff and their immediate family members. After signing up, staff are able to explore the articles and resources to assist with mental, emotional, physical and financial wellbeing, anytime and from anywhere, and at his or her own leisure. It’s easy to connect to wellbeing information and updates through the app’s news feed and in a way that is tailored to one’s own per...sonal interest areas. It’s produced and reviewed by industry experts and bestselling authors, so there’s a wealth of wellbeing content. Wellbeing matters at Melba, and while it’s still early days since its launch, the goal is that many of our staff will benefit from this latest offering.

09.01.2022 Late last week in Ballarat the people supported from our group homes had their vaccinations in a quiet and relaxed area. There were six vaccinations completed every half hour, with everyone under fifty receiving the Pfizer vaccine and over fifties having the AstraZeneca vaccine and there were chocolates to put a smile on everyone’s face after they had their jab. It was all hands-on deck with many staff there to support and ensure the vaccinations went smoothly. ... A massive thank you to the Ballarat Health Services Disability Liaison Officer, Nikki Stiefel, for advocating for this session and to the amazing Ballarat Health Services nurses for the care they took in creating a relaxing and easy environment for our people supported. #MelbaSupport

09.01.2022 Liam ‘RockDude’ O’Brien from Moe South recently curated and performed his own music concert! Liam first picked up a guitar at age 3 and hasn’t put one down since. He is a gifted musician and can play any instrument he may come across but his heart lies with guitar and drums. All of his housemates loved his performance and were singing and dancing along to Liam’s musical talents. Right now he is already planning his next show! Encore
