11.01.2022 Today was a tough day for Melbourne Mavericks. In a make or break match against Malabar warriors, disappointment reigned. A blistering start by Malabar warriors was controlled by some disciplined bowling by Vineeth Paul and co. At the end of the first innings - we were set a target of 185. In the batting department we had a solid start, but then wickets fell in rapid succession and we got out cheap. This just shows that we need to work harder, stay determined and focus on the... next few weeks to improve our match situation management and awareness. Great display of all round cricket from Malabar warriors though - kudos to the entire team. As for us, we take some wise words from a team mate to heart and set about our next steps in our journey. "Bat for yourself, Bowl for your captain, Field for the team" We should focus on our individual performance and strive for improvements across the board and we are positive that the results will soon turn our way ..

02.01.2022 Friendly match against Udaya today and it was great to see some founding members of Melbourne Mavericks participate - Jacob John & Mohan Marar. Udaya batted first and scored 190 thanks to some good batting and some disappointing fielding from Mavericks. Chasing 190, Mavericks posted a score of 150/6 with Jacob John starting in excellent form. Fulbert Xavier , Paul Chacko and Mathew Joy also contributed to the score. This match gives us confidence that we can post good scores as long as we stay disciplined. Now looking forward to an exciting match on the coming weekend.
