Any day is a good day to educate yourself and help educate others about HIV, but today is the perfect day to start. Join us in taking action to reduce the transmission of HIV by promoting prevention strategies; and to ensure that people living with HIV can participate fully in the life of the community, free from stigma and discrimination. 16.01.2022 Dear Members & Friends, This update is to provide some information on the impact the COVID-19 will have on our events and activities. All of our planned events attract a small number of attendees, and generally are in open areas and riding solo for most of the event.... We also recognise the very real need for social gatherings in safe and controlled spaces and how the Social Distancing requirements will affect breaks on our rides. We require all members participating in ride activities to be aware of and self regulate social distancing and physical contact requirements. The current advise is to provide a minimum of 4 square meters (2 meters between each person is close confines) when at gatherings. Always wash your hands thoroughly after using the bathroom, before you eat and if you come into contact with unfamiliar surfaces where there is a high volume of people. At this stage, all planned rides will proceed as normal, but may change at short notice as information is updated and released by Health Authorities and the Australian Federal and State Governments. We will continue to monitor in the days leading up to individual events if they are to go ahead as planned, or if it needs to be cancelled/postponed for now - so please keep an eye on the MMT Website and Facebook Group events pages. Obviously for any event, if you are feeling unwell or unsure if you should attend, please stay at home as all advice suggests. If you are feeling isolated during this time, remember we are just a phone call, SMS, or Facebook chat away. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and discrimination against people with intersex conditions (IDAHOBIT) celebrates LGBTIQ people globablly, and raise awareness for the work that still needs to be done.
