15.01.2022 Cable Ties fans finally got the chance to catch this fierce political punk trio in all their glory for their postponed show at The Forum earlier this week. To top it all off support acts Little Ugly Girls and Mod Con brought heavy-hitting vocals and hell-bent solos to set the tone for the night.

13.01.2022 Last week we ventured inside Capitol Theatre one of Melbourne’s most striking spaces for much-awaited first-time audio visual performances from local electronic artists Ara Koufax and Simona Castricum. In pitch-black surrounds Ara Koufax presented ‘SCREAM’ an experimental film themed around physical violence while Simona Castricum showcased her 2020 album and architecture PhD dissertation ‘Panic/Desire’.

While the show can go on for some MMWExtended events, some events may need to be postponed due to revised COVID-19 government restrictions. 08.01.2022 ANNOUNCING MMW-EXTENDED. Restrictions have meant MMW can no longer go ahead in November, so to make the best of these unexpected times, we’ve chosen to reinvent ourselves once more. Taking place over summer, from 9 Dec 28 Feb, MMW-Extended will present a three-month program to support the local music industry as it recovers after months of lockdown. Watch this space as we get ready to announce the MMW-Extended program in the coming weeks. Music is powerful it soothes and unites us. And we cannot wait to bring it back to our special city.

03.01.2022 Outhouse finally welcomed the eerie, experimental sounds of CS + Kreme to @thecurtin’s band room on Saturday. Fans were also treated to the debut solo set from HTRK’s Jonnine C. Standish accompanied by her new band featuring Manny Müla + Carolyn Schofield + Amrita Hepi + Maria moles and a special cameo from Nigel Yang (HTRK). To level-up an already memorable evening Third Space’s fluid electronics and hypnotic grooves proved that he’s one rising star to keep on your music radar.

02.01.2022 Join us this Saturday 8 August at 1pm for Melbourne Recital Centre's latest concert premiere: Leon Vynehall and The Impossible Orchestra performs Nothing Is Still, recorded live at Melbourne Music Week 2018. A MMW all-time highlight, this yet-to-be-seen live concert recording showcases one of the world’s most adventurous house-music producers and music-makers Leon Vynehall accompanied by the 10-piece string ensemble The Impossible Orchestra at Melbourne Recital Centre. Vynehall is renowned for tracks that evoke childhood memories and transcend expectations of house music. Pop Matters calls his concept album Nothing Is Still an ‘electronic masterpiece’ while NME praises the album for its ‘symphonic genius’.
