25.01.2022 Saturday performances completed!! Well done to all dancers and thank you to al the families that bought their children along to participate, I know it’s a busy time of year. The kids had a great time and I loved seeing which costume they picked out to wear. Thank you to all the MBS staff for your hard work getting all the dancers prepared for their mini concerts. It was good to not miss a years concerts completely. It will definitely be a year to remember!

25.01.2022 Here is out outside timetable. This will run until out inside timetable takes over on 9th November. Please make sure you read our covidsafe plan before arriving to classes so you know what is expected from yourself and your dancer and how we are running the classes.

24.01.2022 Get excited everyone! The wait is almost over... It looks like we should be back in the studio running normal classes again next week (with covid-safe rules of course). So at 10am tomorrow morning we will be releasing our new "Inside" timetable. You will be able to enrol into these classes via email - Current and new students will be accepted. There are new class size restrictions that we need to follow so get in quickly to secure your favourite day for dancing!

24.01.2022 I've sent you all an email about this new app "ATOD@home". It's available on the Apple app store and android. I'd love to see some pictures of our dancers using it whilst in lockdown!

23.01.2022 * All students aged 12 and over must arrive to classes in their mask. Below cut from another post but feels its a clear message for everyone to clarify when they need to have a mask on. MASKS There have been a few questions about mask wearing once back at the studio. Please find a link below to the DHHS guidelines and these are some of the key points below that relate to teachers and exercising.... Key points include: teachers do not need to wear masks when they are instructing, but must put them back on as soon as instruction has finished. Students under 12 are not required to wear a mask Students 12 and over are required to wear a mask, they may take them off during strenuous exercise Will face masks be mandatory for teachers/ early learning/ day care/ kinder? It is not compulsory for teachers, educators and carers to wear face masks while teaching or caring for children as they can interfere with their ability to clearly communicate with students. Teachers, educators and carers can choose to wear face masks if they wish when in the classroom/ facility or when teaching or providing care for children. Teachers, educators and carers should wear face masks in other areas of the school/ facility when not teaching. Do students at schools need to wear a face mask? Students under the age of 12 do not have to wear face masks. Students aged 12 and over will need to wear face masks when they are attending school. However, children who are aged 12 and over who are attending primary school do not need to wear a face mask at school. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is not practical to require some primary school students to wear face masks while others are not required to. Students over 12 years old who attend a specialist school are not required to wear a face mask where their disability means it would not be suitable but may do so if they or their family choose to. Do I have to wear a face mask while exercising? If you are doing exercise or physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing, such as jogging or running, you do not need to wear a face mask. You do have to carry a face mask with you so you can wear it before or after exercising, unless you have a lawful exception. You must wear a face mask when walking for exercise even if the 1.5 metre physical distancing is maintained unless you have a lawful excuse such as a medical condition, where it would be dangerous to have obstructed breathing while walking around. You can choose to wear a face shield on its own while undertaking strenuous exercise. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-vic-covid-19 Department of Health and Human Services Victoria | Face masks: whole of Victoria dhhs.vic.gov.au Department of Health and Human Services Victoria | Face masks: whole of Victoria All Victorians must wear a face mask when leaving home.

Ebony is experienced in teaching many styles of dance and a variety of different ages and loves to share her passion and creativity with her students. Don't stress, all of our much loved current dance teachers ...will be back teaching in 2021, Ebony is just joining them as we have so many classes these days we needed more teachers as we grow larger. 12.01.2022 It was an amazing day today! We got to dance outside and I think I speak on behalf of all of today’s dancers in saying it was just wonderful and well worth all the preparations. To see them all connect with each other and dance together as a group was fantastic. The rain tried to dampen this for a little while but we had to only pause for a few moments and then the sun shone again and we were able to continue. Can’t wait to see more of our dancers there tomorrow.

11.01.2022 Wishing all our Melbourne Ballet School families a fantastic day!

04.01.2022 We have made it through to the end of the dance year!! 2020 started out pretty normal but it sure didn’t stay that way for long. We did 6 normal weeks, locked up for 1 week, then we zoom dance for a very long 24 weeks (I think) and then outside car park dance classes for two and a half weeks before we got back inside for 6 weeks of dance before our end of year mini performances. 21 concerts have been done and were all very successful. Firstly I must thank the Melbourne weath...er - although it rained a few times it was never during a performance so all went ahead as planned Secondly thank you to my teachers for getting through this crazy year that ended with crazy outside concerts Thirdly thank you for the dancers for sticking out the hardest year of dance you would of all had, it was a tough one but you all adapted and continued to improve regardless of the format and I am proud of every single one of you And lastly thank you to the parents whom encouraged and continued to support their dancers during the year. I hope everyone has a great break and look forward to seeing everyone back at the studio in 2021 See more
