24.01.2022 Dear Respected Community Members, We are pleased to report the status of our extended COVID-19 Disaster Appeal for Bangladesh. As reported earlier, just before Eid ul Fitre, we have completed the distribution of Food+Cash Package to 681 poor and needy families in remote rural areas of Bangladesh. Without your generous support (donation / Zakaat / Fitra), this wouldn't have been possible. In this program we spent A$8000 from our fund. At the end of phase 1 (one) program as sta...ted above, we are continuously observing and reviewing the Coronavirus situation alongside the cyclone and flood situation in Bangladesh, which is worsening day by day. After our review, we are of the opinion that the lower middle-class people in Bangladesh are the most disadvantaged group in the society, and about 30% of the entire population will possibly be facing this severe economic crisis. We, therefore, would like to continue our disaster appeal to Phase 2 (two) with an end date of 21 July, about 10 days before forthcoming Eid ul Adha. In this Phase, we are aiming to distribute one more food package just prior to Eid, targeting needy and poor families in Bangladesh with whom we can share our Eid feelings. Eid ul Adha (Qurbani) teaches us compassion and generosity. During this period let us feel for fellow brothers and sisters in our motherland who are living in crisis (both health & economic area) and not so fortunate to enjoy Eid like they are. Your generous sacrifice / supports in this regard would be greatly appreciated After the 1st phase of our program, we currently have a surplus fund of A$4000. To provide the similar food package to the same number of families we covered in the 1st phase, our estimated budget is about A$8000. We are humbly requesting you to please help generously to provide such humanitarian support to the most needy and poor people in Bangladesh at this most uncertain time. For your information, our bank account details are provided below: Account Name: Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund Bank Name: Commonwealth Bank of Australia BSB No: 063-182 Account No: 1142 9990 Please put your name as Reference We appreciate your kind support and generosity. 13.01.2022 Dear Respected Community Members, Bushfires are currently devastating many communities across Australia. Hundreds of homes have been lost, livelihoods destroyed..., and tragically many people have lost their loved ones. With a view to support these bushfire ravaged communities, Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund (BDRF) is making a Bushfire Disaster Appeal to stand by the side of these people. How Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund (BDRF) is helping? BDRF is a not-for-profit organisation incorporated in Australia with ABN 66983946321. The organisation has representations from all community entities and Bangladeshi people living in Melbourne. In its first initiative in 2017, BDRF had carried out a successful flood relief program by distributing funds in cash and in kinds to the flood affected people of the rural areas of Bangladesh. This time we are running this Bushfire Disaster Appeal for two weeks to be ending on Sunday 19 January 2020. At the end of the appeal, your donations will be given directly to the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund of Australian Red Cross to provide food, clothing, essential items, and support for the people affected by this catastrophic fire. Duration of Bushfire Disaster Appeal: Two weeks ending on Sunday 19 January 2020 At the end of this appeal, all money collected from this campaign will be given to Australian Red Cross Relief Fund. How to Donate? By directly depositing to the BDRF’s Own Account: Account Name: Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund 2017 Incorporated Bank: Commonwealth Bank of Australia BSB No: 063-182 Account No: 1142 9990 Please put your name as Reference when transferred online. Any cash amount is welcome as donation. Cash Receipt will be issued on request. Your support is important: As this appeal duration is only for two weeks, it is important that we can reach out to as many community members and organisations as possible. With this view in mind, our members are making efforts to contact the community organizations and members, especially those who helped us in our last flood relief program. If you would like to help us support this initiative, we would request you to contact us by email at [email protected] or Facebook page Bushfire Disaster Appeal by Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund or by phone to the following people Mahbub 0412 599 343, Balark 0438 381 179, Sajib 0449 144 140, and Sajjad 0407 531 140. This emergency is unprecedented, and frighteningly, it is forecast to worsen the fire situation. Please donate urgently to stand beside our bushfire ravaged communities who need your help desperately. Please donate today. With kind regards, Bangladesh Disaster Relief Fund Team
