23.01.2022 One of our Fundraising heroes, Byron Remedios Byron has been involved in fundraising events for Peter Mac for 4 years now, his commitment each year to smash his fundraising is outstanding and there's always a smile on his face. We are honoured to have Byron onboard for 2020, part of our Unite team riding along side us, providing encouragement each kilometre (albeit virtually this year!) As a Peter Mac ambassador, he has told us I will keep doing this for as long as my ...legs and my bum permits me! Without our incredible supporters, events like Unite to Fight Cancer would not be able to fund so much of Peter Mac's pioneering research. 21.01.2022 When Jess first came to Peter Mac, she had been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer conjunctival ocular melanoma. At just 22 years of age, Jess had to ...have her left eye removed, in the hope this would remove the cancer. Unfortunately, only a year later, the cancer was back this time in her brain. While her cancer was extremely rare, Jess was fortunate to be able to access the latest research insights and treatment at Peter Mac. In fact, she had quite the team of experts behind her as Jess explains, within a day of arriving at Peter Mac they had already created a huge plan. I had a team of 50 specialists working to find the best course of action for me, which made me feel very comfortable. We are happy to share that it has now been five years since Jess' diagnosis. Peter Mac is at the forefront of cancer research and they have given me a second chance. I get to create a beautiful life beyond what could have been a terminal diagnosis. 21.01.2022 A Peter Mac advocate and cycling enthusiast - Nick Mahon, captain of Team Trudo are returning for their 4th Unite to Fight Cancer ride this October After my father and mother in law passed away from cancer, my son in law was then diagnosed. My inspiration is to help the Peter Mac Foundation by raising as much funds as we can to assist research staff in finding cures for this terrible disease which effects most families like ours. And to at least change the journey for ...others diagnosed with cancer. "Even during these difficult times all the people who have supported me and Peter Mac over the last four years are always glad to support and donate. I have promised everyone that I will complete the 200kms in the allotted time frame, which will include using my indoor trainer and riding out on the road for 1 hour per day, as per the current restrictions. Although we are in difficult COVID times, Cancer doesn't stop effecting our family and friends, including ours." Over the years Nick and Team Trudo have been just one of the amazing teams Uniting in our fight against cancer. Lucas sadly passed away in August 2015 aged just 20. 16.01.2022 Wow what an epic 10 days that was! 3,207 of you passionate walkers and riders raised over $1.7 million for crucial cancer research here at Peter Mac. We have been so inspired by the amazing stories and efforts you have put in, and we just wanted to thank you once again

16.01.2022 A champion with an infectious personality, John Margelis John took on Unite to Fight Cancer 6 weeks post operation and started chemotherapy just one day after his walk last year. True courage and determination shown in every step, maybe just a few blisters to take home too Johns story... In August 2019 I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, with a 13 cm tumour in my bowel. I listened to my body and went for a colonoscopy; I was given the sad news straight away that I had bowel cancer. After a CT Scan I was told that I was fortunate and it hadn't spread. I was operated on two weeks later and here I am today 6 weeks after the operation walking 7 kms to raise funds and awareness for cancer. I am cancer free... this is a good news story. I was Stage 2 when I was treated. I urge you all to do your checks and tests, get it early to get a good outcome. The staff at Peter Mac are amazing people and I was supported every step of the way. 14.01.2022 Next month as you take on the 10-day challenge, there will be hundreds of Peter Mac staff uniting with you. And, one of those heroes is Prof Rick Pearson, Associate Director of Laboratory Research. Like all of us, I have lost family and friends to cancer and know more who are living with it. ... I have the privilege of working in the best cancer research institution in the country and know first hand that Discovery Research is the key to improving patient outcomes. Unfortunately, our research is limited by the constraints of available funding. The funding provided by the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is essential for maintaining the cutting edge technology and resources required to keep us at the forefront of international research. Importantly, it is also invaluable for our newest, most innovative projects that are often overlooked by traditional funding bodies. I am training and running to support the Foundation in the great work they are doing for research at Peter Mac and to show my commitment to cancer patients and their families. Rick is heading up the research team this year and is very excited to walk (virtually) alongside you! A big thank you again to everyone for your support, we couldn't do what we do without you!

13.01.2022 WE DID IT! Wow. What an incredible 10 days it has been. Right now, collectively, we've walked, run, crawled, ridden and pushed over 312,000km and raised over $1.68 million! ... And because of all you have done, Peter Mac can continue its life saving research and support of people diagnosed with cancer, and their families. We just can't thank you enough. Of course, none of this would have happened without the support of over 25,000 generous friends and family, who donated to support your challenge! ''Despite everything going on, we can't lose sight that cancer is still a massive issue and needs to be dealt with. My family and friends know this and have been more than happy to donate and support which is all the motivation that is needed because cancer doesn't stop for anyone or anything. Everyone has been touched by it in some way or another and it needs to be stopped.'' ''For Vic...torians, it's still really easy to prepare for, and do this challenge. For the walk, it's 10 walks (or jogs) around your 5km permitted radius over 10 days. For the ride, it's a few laps around your permitted 5km radius each day.'' ''For Victorians and everyone, it's the motivation to get fit, get active, get outside and kick cancer's bum. We've got this!"
