24.01.2022 A very successful Urban Vintage Walking Tour yesterday with a very happy guest! Great styles and fantastic bargains.
24.01.2022 The State Library of Victoria has recently had a facelift! Officially opened in 1856, its not only the oldest public library in Australia but also one of the first free public libraries in the world. Enjoy 360 views of the renovated interior courtesy of The Age.
23.01.2022 Its another beautiful day in Melbourne today. Whatever youre doing - attending the Boxing Day test, hitting the Boxing Day sales or just taking it easy, enjoy!
23.01.2022 Melbourne has packed a lot into the past 184 years of European settlement! Happy birthday Melbourne!
23.01.2022 Were looking forward to the day when you can see this sight again - flying into our beautiful city! Were spending some time while were out of action planning some new tours. If theres anything youve ever wished you could do on a tour in Melbourne, drop us a line and let us know! If we use your idea well give you a free tour next time youre here.
23.01.2022 Were having some wild weather in Melbourne today! Top temperatures around 40C, high winds and now the rain is starting. A roof has blown off a building near us. Stay safe everyone! But we never forget that were still in a much better position than so many other parts of the country being devastated by fire. Youre all in our thoughts.
23.01.2022 A Nation Weeps is starting to take shape in the Shrine Visitor Centre. Make sure you take the time to come and see this beautiful tribute.
23.01.2022 Please note that Show Me Melbourne is still operating as normal. We will continue to monitor government advice and will advise if this changes. The health and safety of our guests continues to be of the utmost importance to us. For bus tours, all hard surfaces on the bus will be disinfected between each tour and cushioned seats will be sprayed with a disinfectant spray. At this stage we can also offer hand sanitiser to guests throughout the tour, however our stock is run...ning low and we advise guests to bring their own if possible. Walking tours will continue as normal. We also ask that guests who are experiencing illness contact us to cancel or reschedule their tour to protect the health of others.
22.01.2022 Todays piece of Melbourne for you to tour from home is the Old Melbourne Gaol. It was one of the earliest gaols in Melbourne and was in use from 1842 to 1929. Probably its most infamous inmate was bushranger Ned Kelly who was executed here in November 1880. https://matterport.com/industries/gallery/old-melbourne-gaol
22.01.2022 This is one of the best sales in Melbourne! Most of the stock is slashed to $50 or less. I know our Bargains and Bubbles tour will be making a stop there tomorrow.
20.01.2022 One of the things visitors to Melbourne often look forward to is an evening at Phillip Island to watch the penguins come in. Heres an opportunity to watch it live-streamed from the comfort (and warmth!) of your own home.
19.01.2022 Degraves St is one of my favorite laneways in the city. Normally bustling with people and lots of tables with diners lining the street. One of our favorite shops selling locally sourced gifts is here - Clementines. The lane is almost unrecognizable in this photo. Were looking forward to the day when we can all be back there, enjoying a meal in the sun. Stay safe everyone - with new case numbers finally back under 100, it feels like were almost there!
19.01.2022 The centre of Melbourne at 11am on Remembrance Day yesterday.
18.01.2022 Im glad to say that I did know most of these - but the coffee one blew me away! I know we drink a lot of coffee here, but thats extreme!
17.01.2022 Have you been following the sporting posts on our blog? Ive always loved this story of the ultimate act of sportsmanship between John Landy and Ron Clarke in the lead up to the 1956 Olympics. https://www.showmemelbourne.com.au//the-ultimate-act-of-sp
17.01.2022 Theres always a festival somewhere in Melbourne. The European Night Market on Friday nights in July is always one of our favourites!
17.01.2022 Even though the three zoos in Melbourne are currently closed (Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Werribee Open Range Zoo) you can still catch some of the animals via the live-stream at www.zoo.org.au/animal-house/
16.01.2022 It was wonderful to be back in the city yesterday. There are glimpses of the origins of Melbourne tucked away between the soaring buildings if you just know where to look...
16.01.2022 It great to know that one way or another the Melbourne Cup will still be run!
16.01.2022 We couldn't have said it better!
15.01.2022 Today is Melbourne Day! On 30th August every year Melbourne Day commemorates European settlement with the arrival of a group who sailed from Van Diemens Land aboard the Enterprize. They landed opposite what is now the Immigration Museum on 30th August 1835 and founded the first permanent settlement. Whilst we clearly love our city, on this day it is important that we also acknowledge the five aboriginal groups who formed the Kulin Nation and remember the impact that European settlement had on them.
15.01.2022 How could you not love your job when you have guests like these on board! Two of the fantastic ladies on todays Bargains and Bubbles tour. Thanks Michelle and Lisa!
14.01.2022 Maha is one of our favorite restaurants in the city! Were super excited to have the opportunity to do a cooking class with the amazingly talented Shane Delia! Be quick to secure your place - its bound to sell out quickly!

13.01.2022 We love getting feedback from our guests, and this was a lovely message to wake up to on a Sunday! "Just wanted to write a note to you about how much my daughter Narelle and I enjoyed our day on your Bargains tour. Tracey was a wonderful host making us feel welcomed and at ease. She was really helpful and worked in with us on what we wanted to do with our day. The shopping venues we went to were fabulous and we came away with great bargains. The people at each venue were extr...emely helpful and nice. I will be happy to recommend your tour to anyone that might be looking for a shopping experience. Again thankyou Regards Michele and Narelle Bridge" See more
13.01.2022 We're very excited that Melbourne has taken another step towards reopening. We hope to have our tours running again very soon! We just need a little time to check various venues we go to have reopened and are ready for our tours to visit again. Stay tuned!
12.01.2022 Music, food and our wonderful state of Victoria - this is going to be amazing! Tune in on Sunday 17th May and support it in whatever way you can.
10.01.2022 No need to completely forgo cultural experiences while youre locked up at home! The National Gallery of Victoria is one of the many art galleries around the world that is providing virtual tours. Check it here - https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/virtual-tours/
09.01.2022 Very grateful today that we are still able to go for a walk. For those who have come on the Horses, Wine & Beer tour with Melbourne Sports Tours, this is out the other side of Woodlands Park. The perfect place for a picnic lunch, overlooking the city with no-one else in sight. The video starts with the city, pans over the airport and out over the west.
09.01.2022 Every so often a seal takes a wrong turn and ends up in the Yarra around the city. Looks like Sammy the Seal is taking advantage of Melbourne being so quiet to do a little sightseeing!
08.01.2022 Where else would you be on Halloween in Melbourne than Melbourne General Cemetery?

08.01.2022 I think a lot of Aussies can relate to this at the moment!
07.01.2022 This is a list of places considered worth visiting in Melbourne in 1884. Orphanages? Asylums? Hospitals? You'll be pleased to know we have much better places to show you in 2020!
06.01.2022 Look at this photo of our favorite city in the world - posted by My Vivid Melbourne. Check out their page for some more stunning images of Melbourne.
05.01.2022 Were very excited to announce that we are now the proud owners of Melbourne Sports Tours! Huge thanks to founders Anthony and Kirsty Grace who have run a fantastic tourism company for the past 15 years. We promise to look after your legacy and carry it into the future. Melbourne Sports Tours offer interactive small group tours, showing you behind the scenes of Melbournes world class sporting facilities, including the MCG, Melbourne Park and Flemington Racecourse. Between ...our shopping tours, historical tours, local culture tours and now sport tours, weve got Melbourne pretty well covered! The picture below is from todays Melbourne Sports Lovers tour at Flemington Racecourse - currently undergoing lots of pruning and garden work to have it looking picture perfect for this years Spring Racing Carnival! Check out the Melbourne Sports Tours page https://www.facebook.com/melbournesportstours/ and follow it to keep up to date with our tours and special deals!
05.01.2022 In line with government guidelines, all three of our tour companies, Melbourne Sports Tours, Melbourne Shopping Experiences and Show Me Melbourne will be closed as of today, 23rd March. Initially we hope to only close for one month, but will continue to follow the advice of the government. We look forward to coming back bigger and better than ever when the world is a safer place.... Look after yourselves and each other.
03.01.2022 Its nice when Flemington Racecourse is within your 5km restricted area and you can visit a couple of old friends.
03.01.2022 Look out for Natalie Trayling playing around the city. Ive been seeing her for over 20 years and shes always a joy to hear. This is the first time Ive learnt of her background and it makes her even more fascinating. Shes an intrinsic part of the streets of Melbourne.
02.01.2022 If you love bags, get yourself to the Sans Beast sample & warehouse sale tomorrow! Gorgeous vegan leather bags at a fraction of the retail price.
01.01.2022 Theres some fascinating facts in here! Some funny, some quirky and some Melbourne should be very proud of! Some of them raise some interesting questions. Eg: #46 - If you email a tree, does it respond? #56 - Does this explain why everyone in Melbourne hates Fosters Lager but it sells so well in the U.S.? #81 - What was happening in the 1950s that people were likely to bump into pirates wandering the streets of Melbourne?... Which one is your favourite?
