25.01.2022 Altona to Port Melbourne,Sunday 8th May, 2016, $10 Coast Walk Easy/Medium (flat), 16km This is a pleasant walk. From village-like Altona we head past Seaholme to Kororoit Creek, with its mangroves and small fishermen's huts. Further along there is a small rocky boat harbour and the hidden treasures of Williamstown. After coffee in Williamstown we walk along the lower reaches of the Yarra to the Westgate Punt. After crossing to Fisherman's Bend we head past Garden City to ...Port Melbourne and a tram back to the CBD. 25.01.2022 Triple (Urban) Farm Walk Inner urban creek & river walk, 10km Let's enjoy visiting three urban farms in one morning! We'll start at Collingwood Children's Farm and walk along the Yarra and Merri Creek to CERES Community Environment Park, then a bit further to Merri Creek Market Garden. We'll stop at CERES for a few minutes for a toilet break, and at the end of the walk, we can spend a few minutes at the Market Garden too. We'll then take the number 1 tram (at Nicholson St) back to the start point or to the city.

19.01.2022 Cherry Lake, Williamstown Thursday 6th April 2017 Lake & Coastal Walk easy, 10km According to Wikipedia, Cherry Lake was created in the 1960s as a flood retention basin for residential expansion in Altona and Brooklyn. The lake and surrounding reserve is an important wildlife habitat. We will walk north from Altona Station and circumnavigate Cherry Lake, then follow walking tracks past Altona Coastal Park, The Jawbone Conservation Reserve to the Williamstown Esplanade, where we will probably stop for coffee before taking Forster Road north to Williamstown Beach station.
