Isolated thunderstorms have already occurred across parts of central Victoria this morning, and are currently occurring across eastern Victoria. Thunderstorms are a risk through much of the State today, although storms are most likely in the east during the afternoon. 16.01.2022 * THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN AND NORTHEAST VICTORIA ON SATURDAY * Thunderstorms are possible across much of northern and eastern Victoria on Saturday, most likely during the afternoon and evening. There is also a small risk of storms during the early hours of Saturday across the northeast ranges. 15.01.2022 * 9:45PM THUNDERSTORM UPDATE FOR VICTORIA - WEDNESDAY * A trough is continuing to move across Victoria producing rain and isolated thunderstorms across parts of central and eastern Victoria. This dynamic upper trough will continue to across Victoria overnight bringing the risk of non-severe thunderstorms to the eastern half of the state, mainly in the hours before dawn. ... Significant atmospheric instability and strong winds aloft means that these early storms will contain a risk of damaging wind gusts. There is also a chance of heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding. Thunderstorms currently over central Victoria are no longer expected to produce severe phenomena.
