22.01.2022 This morning Lion Diana and Lion Alex called in to visit some of the wonderful team from SJI Autism & Carer Support. These 4 Wonder Women below were presented with our latest round of Hero Hampers, as for us in the ASD Community these girls have been our heroes!! SJI started close to 8 years ago by Kate Johnson and has been supporting the autism community in many different ways. In that time they have given away over 3000 Blessing bags that have brought smiles and tears of h...appiness to many people receiving them. But this is not all they have done. They have provided free yoga sessions, arts and crafts and counseling sessions and many parent education sessions. The list goes on. Sadly due to funding cuts this organisation that has meant so much to so many people are closing down. They will be greatly missed and we wish all involved a smooth transition into where life takes you next. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your service and wish you all the very best for the future

14.01.2022 Consider the sounds of your local pool: amplified screams and splashes and the tumble of bags and clothes and people. Now imagine the sensory overload of this e...nvironment for people living with autism Knox Leisureworks, in partnership with Different Journeys a support organisation created by families and individuals with autism, and Interchange Outer East, recently ran a pool night that provided a special low-sensory environment. The night was supported by Melbourne Autism Lions Club who supplied a yummy BBQ dinner, and the evening provided families and individuals with autism an enjoyable experience with plenty of space, and limited noise and light interference. Parents and carers also had a great time too! Read more about the recent swim night and keep an eye out for more Be Kind stories. https://bit.ly/2MWuPrZ #BeKindKnox
