24.01.2022 Here are some nice (but bloody hard) ways to strengthen a distal hamstring. This little progression instructed by Dr. Tim Sayer PhD (ACLr) is designed to teach people not to bias their previously injured side, and to get the hamstring conditioned in outer range. A basketball? It gets perturbation loads going to decrease unwanted shearing load. 23.01.2022 For those who have undergone an ACLr you will know it is such a journey. As part of the journey there will come a time and place when some people will want to return to sport. For those who intend to return to cutting activity, agility drills are a must and need to be progressed accordingly. After 10 super consistent months of intense Physio we are at this point we are here with a patient. This is such an exciting time for everyone involved, so we thought we would share a nice drill as part of the return to sport process. 22.01.2022 We spent some time today in a lunch and learn from Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Austin Vo who’s expertise covers all aspects of shoulder and knee surgeries. Today we discussed the latest techniques and theories applied to common injuries like shoulder dislocations and ACL reconstructions. A strong working relationship between physiotherapists and surgeons is crucial. Patients receive much better care and outcomes when their surgeons and physios are on the same page for ...realistic recovery strategies and timelines. It also makes us far more empathetic and informed in our treatment plans to know what actually happens in a surgical procedure. Big thank you to Mr. Austin Vo and team from Melbourne Shoulder and Knee for helping us keep up to date on procedures like an arthroscopic Bankart repair, the Latarjet procedure and different ways to approach ACL reconstructions. 19.01.2022 We would be remiss if an end of season shout out didn't go to the troops at @rising.tc. It’s been a ripping season for the whole squad. It’s actually a tough ask to try and summarise every gutsy performance, slice of hard work, commitment and elite ‘culcha’ into one post. This squad has big dreams and we’re so here for everything that’s to come. A few biggies from Aussie Nationals to mention: @jack.lunn1 won bronze in his first crack at an Opens National Champs. For a 19 ...year old to juggle elite training, uni, work, friends and all the white remain a grounded piece of humble pie is a testament to who he is and where he’s going. He ran some gusty rounds and it’s all pennies in the bank for his development. @thefrypan_ checked off his biggest season yet with a full house of PBs across the 200m, 400m and 400m hurdles. He also showed how you can be the best shape ever and still be at the mercy of the 400mH. Running in medal contention and stumbling at the last hurdle was a shattering end to Conor’s season (still finishing 7th overall). But only an hour later he picked himself up and ran the Opens 4x400m, claiming a silver medal for Victoria and showing a lot of character in the process. Well done @rising.tc and Coach Steve Fabris on the huge year. Heads down, spikes on and get excited for an even bigger 2021/22 season. We’re really proud to be part of the journey. @rising.tc

11.01.2022 The basics performed well will hold people in a really good position. The secret?
