25.01.2022 Semi Finals Brimbank Cup 2021 MDU vs Melbourne Blues Melbourne blues 149/10 MDU 150/8 (19 overs) ... Melbourne blues won the toss and elected to bat. Melbourne blues started their innings pretty flashy and crossed 50 runs in 5 overs without loosing a wicket. Tom Cruzappan broke the opening partnership . From that moment MDU kept picking wickets in regular intervals and restricted Melbourne blues to 149 runs. Pick of the bowlers were Sandeep Kumar & Bhavin Patel picking up 3 wickets each Swafdil picking up 2 crucial wickets. Batting wise MDU lost couple of early wickets during the powerplay but runs kept coming swiftly through Allen Raj and Tom’s crucial partnership at the top. Descent contribution from all the batsmen and George Lijo played a great anchoring innings and stayed not out for the whole chase. Some mighty hits in the end from Sandeep ensured that MDU chased down the total with one whole over to spare. Excellent finish to semifinal with an MDU victory and thus booked the birth for the Brimbank Grand finals on 28th March Sunday Against Western tigers. Playing the game with the right spirit and fighting till the end is MDU’s motto . One more game to lift that Cup. Let gooo MDU !!! 24.01.2022 [apologies for the late update ] Last week MDU had a thumping victory over the opponent. As we top the ladder currently by winning 4/4 games. Last week’s best performer was Jithutitty Thuppathil for his splendid bowling and contribution with the bat . Congratulations Jithu... many more to come !!

18.01.2022 Best performer for this week is none other than Allen Raj ! Fabulous 40 with the bat and 4 wickets with the ball. Allen certainly shaping up to be a batting all rounder for the team this year piling up runs with his bat. Keep going Allen ! Many more to come. Congratulations once again

17.01.2022 This week’s best performer is none other than the MDU captain Allen Raj ! Allen bowled superbly and finished with a figure of 3/17 in his spell. Congratulations Allen .. way to lead the side !

11.01.2022 Quarter final Brimbank Cup 2021 MDU vs Northern 11 MDU - 148/5 (20) Northern 11 - 64/10 (12) ... MDU won the toss and elected to bat. MDU lost two early wickets but cruised swiftly during the power play overs with some steady batting display from Tom and Bhavin Patel . Bhavin continued his fluent batting throughout the MDU innings to strike a blitzering 72 not out of just 47 balls. 61 runs partnership of just 35 balls between Bhavin and Sandeep for the 6th wicket took the MDU total to 148/5. Defending 148, MDU pace spearheads Allen Raj and Sandy Kumar started off picking up early breakthroughs which kept the northern 11 in back seat straight away. Tom was brought into the attack as the first change and he rattled the stumps during his match winning spell of getting 4 scalps in his 3 overs by giving away just 13 runs. Bhavin picked up two of the last wickets to finish off the game in just 12 overs. In the end a massive Victory of 84 runs for MDU. Bhavin was the player of the match for his 72 not out and 2 wickets . With this victory , MDU has qualified to the semi finals of Brimbank Cup 2021 and will be facing Melbourne blues. 2 more victories away from lifting the Brimbank Cup !! Upwards and onwards .. Let’s go MDU !!!!
