24.01.2022 How cute is graduation?!?

22.01.2022 A fun morning with our Advance Obedience crew on Saturday. Great job everyone

17.01.2022 If you have kids, this is a great resource. Make sure to watch their video with the whole family. https://www.thefamilydog.com/stop-the-77/

14.01.2022 If you've ever seen the Daycare area at Woofers HQ, you may have noticed music playing. Music is a useful type of enrichment to relieve both stress and boredom for doggies. This study from Centre for Animal Welfare and Ethics, School of Veterinary Sciences, University of Queensland measured the heart rate variability with various stimuli. Music was a more effective stimuli that lavender or pheromones. So if you are heading off to work, or leaving your pooch at home, try poppi...ng on the radio (or tv)...our favourite is ABC Kids, or classical (but sometime those very dramatic pieces can be a bit over stimulating). https://www.mdpi.com/2076-2615/10/8/1385

09.01.2022 Our last day of training is tomorrow (Wednesday 23/12), we'll be back training Monday 4/1. Have a wonderful Chrissy & New Year and may your days be filled with food, friends, family and festivities....and fur-friends!

04.01.2022 Meet BUDDY. BUDDY is a 4yrs old, Kelpie X Koolie and came to his forever home with some behavioural challenges. He was caged until 6 months of age and had no interactions with other dogs. No surprise he came with some reactivity issues. BUDDY's family has been so proactive with his training and to see the massive improvements with him, is a testament to their dedication.... This time last year he wouldn't have been able to cope being near a dog park, let alone doing exercises there. For the last few weeks he has been having his coaching sessions at the park and we are so proud of him and Brett. BUDDY loves his training sessions and is visibly chuffed when he gets something right or learns new skills. So a massive shout out to BUDDY, Brett, Millie & Trish....keep up the great work! 02.01.2022 Basic Obedience (5 week course) starting Saturday 13/2/21 - Enrolments now open. Call 8609 9700 to book. Classes held Ormond (theory) & Caulfield North (practical) - foundation skills suitable for dogs aged 8+ months -... A well-trained dog is a joy to be around. You can take them places without worry, they don’t jump on the visitors, they come when called, and they not only listen when you ask them to do something they actually do it. Dogs aren’t born knowing what it takes to be a calm, well-mannered member of the family. They have to be taught. Our relaxed, small group classes will help you communicate with your dog in a way that leads to the good behaviours you’ve always wanted. The Basic Obedience course is held over five sessions and includes a compulsory dog-free theory class. Topics covered in the practical classes are; sit-stay drop-stay stand loose leash walking recall (aka come when called) food refusal and manners focus and engagement under distraction $235 / $195 (post grad) *Graduates of Basic Obedience are eligible to sit the Sec49 Good Dog Test, achievement in this gives you discounted Council registration for the life of your dog.
