17.01.2022 Melbourne Gliding club - Happy 76th anniversary. While the origins of the Club go back to the early 1930's, when a group of glider pilots began flying together. The club wasn't officially formed until September 1944. Many thanks to our past and present members who have made the club what it is today.

15.01.2022 Hello to all! Based on available information, it looks as though the earliest date we can restart our operations will be 26 October, with strict limits on numbers. Our restart plan will be stepped and focused on safe flying and Covid safety. Thank you to all our members for your patience. We hope you're all safe and well. We'll continue to keep you updated here, and on our website.

15.01.2022 Today we would like to celebrate Tighe Patching’s Dad Ian Patching, and reminisce the beautiful memories of Ian that will stay forever in the hearts of his love...d ones Tighe - My love of gliding comes from my grandad, Alan, and my Dad, Ian, as well as other people in my family who were glider pilots (including my uncle Geoff, and my Mum, Ruth). This is a photo of my Dad and I, probably around 1989, and I'd be 4 years old. We're in a Kookaburra, which has a fairly unique offset side-by-side cockpit arrangement. This Father's Day I'm thankful to my Dad for passing on his love of gliding to me. I miss him every day, but always feel like he's with me when I'm soaring.
