24.01.2022 Perfect day at Melbourne Gun Club today with 12 full squads competing in the VCTA South East Zone Continental Carnival. The grounds were looking fantastic thank you to Grounds Keeper Roger Esplin for ensuring they looked in tip top shape as always. It was great to hear the feedback from shooters how good they were looking. Thank you to Chloe for her efforts in the office today as Emma had to leave not feeling the best. Hope you are feeling better next week Em!!... Thank you also to Gerald & Jaeng for keeping everyones belts full with great food from the Cafe as always. And thank you to everyone who had travelled from near and far to make it a great days shooting. Although it was a perfect day it was still a little tricky with the breeze just enough to make the low ones to the right go a little lower than normal every now and then, and then the shadows coming across later in the day really caused some havoc. First day of the ring of steel being dropped and it was great to have everyone back at the club keeping all committee, office, trappers and cafe on their toes 13 squads for DTL and 7 squads for Trench saw out the day.... The Trench saw the hosting of the Jean & Peter Wray Cup to honour both Jean & Peter for their tireless work in ISSF both at Melbourne and Australia wide. It was great to have Peter at the club today. Nino Pedulla being the overall winner to get his name engraved on the Cup. Thanks also to Judith Kent for her assistance on the board and reffing and scoring. 22.01.2022 Well done today to Yarra Valley Field & Game on their inaugural shoot. 160 shooters entered and all running smoothly with lots of happy faces and lots of positive feed back which is great. It is good to have Field & Game shooting back at Melbourne Gun Club and we look forward to bigger and better events to come.... Well done guys

22.01.2022 STATE SKEET TITLES - HALL OF FAME POINTS A few people have asked for clarification if the State Skeet Titles will have Hall of Fame points attached to them. Ruling from the ACTA is a freeze has been put on all Hall of Fame points since March 16th 2020 and and as such no National Hall of Fame points will be until the current Covid situation clears and borders are all open again.... VCTA State Hall of Fame points however are still on offer at the event. We hope this clears any confusion

17.01.2022 A reminder that due to unfortunate circumstances we will not have any .410 or 20 gauge ammo available at the club for the State Skeet Titles (we will have plenty of 28 gauge and 12 gauge). If you are chasing Winchester sub gauge ammo make sure to contact Clay & Hunt who can even arrange delivery to the club for you!!!

10.01.2022 Saturday 28th of November we held our annual DTL Champion of Champions shoot where all Overall winners from each event and the High Gun have their named enscribed on the clubs honour boards as well as some great cash prizes up for grabs. We had originally hoped to host this event in October but due to Covid19 a last minute program change saw able to fit the event in ensuring the shooters had at least one great event to shoot for at the club for the remainder of the year. 57 ...Continue reading

07.01.2022 A great weekend was had this weekend by MGC Junior shooter Ben DePedro!! Ben not only won both C Grade events on Saturday at our weekly shoot but Sunday he and dad Dave made the trek to Woods Point where Bens winning streak continued with him winning C grade in the 25t SB event and the 30t Continental event!! Great weekend Ben and I am sure B grade will be coming soon!!! Keep up the good work

06.01.2022 ATTENTION ISSF SKEET SHOOTERS We plan again to host an ISSF Skeet event on the Sunday of the Roberto Scalzone Cup event (Sunday 10th of January) with practice available on Saturday 9th of January. The event will again be 100tgts plus final.... More details will come as we get closer but please keep this date marked in your diary!!!

04.01.2022 Our brand new 75 Inch HD TV is up and operating. Just need to install the sound bar and we will be off and running. This will be connected to KAYO Sports during footy season and cricket games etc making the club the perfect place to be with our cafe and bar open for meals on Friday & Saturdays

25.12.2021 A great weekend again at MGC as we hosted the VSCA State Compak Titles. These were supposed to be held in November but with Covid and flooding they were pushed back to January. We must take this opportunity to thank Bill Fraser, Ricky & Luke Willemsen and Stephen Spencer for their efforts in setting the 4 layouts up on Wednesday in 36 degree heat! An amazing effort thank you guys it is greatly appreciated. Also Jim Hutchinson & Phil Gore who came out to help with the non tech...nical side of things. Also thank you to Buggs for all his hard work he puts into the sport to make the weekend run as well as it did! Great effort Buggs Well done to Luke Willemsen for his amazing shooting all weekend to take out the Overall State Championship against a top quality field. Great effort!! Luke started as a trapper with the club and it is great to see his shooting progress to claim another state championship!! To our electronics wiz Paul Schroeter who pushed buttons all weekend and ensuring all our electronics were doing what they were supposed to we couldn’t have done it with you!! Thank you to all the shooters who travelled near and far for the event! It was our pleasure to host you and we look forward to having you back again soon!!

01.12.2021 Practice is available at the club tomorrow from 1pm until 5pm for all disciplines, including Compak at ground 8. Please note that we will have restricted layouts available due to the grounds being set up for the State Compak Championships on the weekend. Also please note that the trench layout is setup for Universal Trench practice. There will be no ISSF trench available tomorrow.

18.10.2021 Hi all, we have been alerted that a competitor in the DTL event on the weekend just gone has tested positive today for Covid 19. The competitor had no symptoms on Saturday but woke up with them on Sunday morning. As always if you were at the club on Saturday and have any symptoms at all please ensure you are tested immediately.
