25.01.2022 Framed by autumn leaves in the garden of his family home, Jesse joyfully exchanged wedding vows with his beautiful Japanese bride, Kana. They look forward to a marriage filled with laughter, trust and love. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/australian-autumn-wed/

25.01.2022 Their friendship started 20 years ago when the groom agreed to mow the bride's lawn in exchange for a cuppa and a chat. Their lives may have taken different pathways, turnings and challenges, but the friendship endured. How appropriate then, that their lovingly maintained garden was the setting for their wedding on Saturday. It looked beautiful - all the flowers glowing and the fountain sparkling as they exchanged their vows before families and close friends. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/its-all-about-friends/

25.01.2022 Scott and Lisa chose a beautiful wood-panelled library as the setting for their wedding, so what better place for their rings to be than in a book! The book is appropriately titled A Tale as Old as Time and inside it, we find the words: Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life .... Love gives us a Fairy Tale. 24.01.2022 Smiles of joy all around as Alistair and Kellie say "I do!" Two years to the day since they first met in London, this very happy international couple tied the knot and welcomed in the Spring in the beautiful Alexandra Gardens yesterday. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/we-do/

23.01.2022 Gavin was overjoyed when his lovely fiancee Kusuma agreed to come to Australia to marry him. It is a big step to leave one's culture and family, but both the bride and the groom are very much looking forward to making a happy life together here and to travel back to Thailand when they can. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/many-trips-to-thaila/

23.01.2022 When the bride has come all the way to Australia from Iran, to be married to her true love, also from Iran, what better lines to quote than those of the Persian poet, Rumi: "May these vows and this marriage be blessed"? http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/iran-to-australia/

23.01.2022 The groom was Polish, so what better way to celebrate than with a toast of fiery-smooth Polish vodka and the toast of "Stollart!" for a hundred years of good luck? It was a beautiful wedding . The bridal party stood under an awning hung between gum trees and the signing table was a log, conveniently upturned. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1566

22.01.2022 With the majestic buildings and garden of Ripponlea as their background, the bride and groom looked serenely happy as they "tied the knot" in a symbolic hand-fasting ritual. Even though their earlier paths had brought them tantalisingly close to each other - going to the same school, sharing mutual friends and interests, and living in the same neighbourhoods - they did not meet until a school reunion nearly twenty years later. 22.01.2022 In a Renewal of Vows Ceremony, it is very special and significant for a couple to stand in front of people that matter to them and say, after ten years of marriage, that they still adore each other, that they are still deeply committed to their partnership, and they are very proud of what they have achieved together over their life's journey.

22.01.2022 My little grand daughter was so thrilled that we were celebrating Saturday's wedding in my home that she drew a picture for the bride, groom and guests to see as they entered. Everyone managed to find a seat. During the ceremony the happy couple lit a marriage candle and after they had exchanged their vows, shared a piece of wedding cake. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/happy-wedding-day/

21.01.2022 Cheers rang out as Lisa and Meghan celebrated their partnership of nineteen years with a joyous wedding on the banks of the Yarra river. Standing in bare feet to be connected to the land that is special to them, they acknowledged the trees, the water and the original inhabitants of this place. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/marriage-is-the-unio/

21.01.2022 Earlier this month I was in Cambodia admiring the lavishly decorated costumes used in royal weddings and the different coloured dresses for each day of the week. This morning, a young man met me to discuss a future wedding with his lovely Cambodian fiancee whom he is working to bring here on a Prospective Spouse Visa. He showed me the photos from their engagement party in Cambodia and I was amazed to see how many ornate and varied changes of dress they had. Certainly, decorative and colourful wedding outfits are central to a Cambodian-style wedding. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/wedding-cambodian-sty/

21.01.2022 The chuppah is adorned with roses and the marriage certificates are waiting to be signed. I love this time of anticipation and preparedness, just before the groom and his groomsmen arrive and before the wedding guests have started to assemble. The Yarra Ranges Estate was a superb setting for Chloe and Alex's joyous wedding on Saturday. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/ready-and-waiting/

21.01.2022 Their Australian civil marriage ceremony followed Hindu betrothal rituals as this lovely young couple acknowledged their cultural and religious backgrounds in a colourful celebration.

21.01.2022 All civil marriage celebrants are required to undertake 5 hours of professional development each year to keep them up to date with marriage law and regulations. The celebrant association for which I am secretary, held a stimulating two-day Conference recently which included a celebration dinner, guest speakers and a number of sessions highlighting our celebrant journey, as well as the professional development. June is always a good time for a celebrants' conference as brides and grooms tend to avoid the colder months for holding their weddings and we celebrants enjoy the chance to catch up with colleagues and share stories.

20.01.2022 The bride and groom came down from Sydney with a group of close friends to celebrate their marriage on the beach at St Kilda. The skies may have been grey and the wind blowing, but everyone was happy. Their marriage ceremony was the legal solemnisation of an earlier exchange of vows in New Zealand, and was a sincere and confident affirmation of the love and commitment the smiling couple felt for each other. 20.01.2022 I love this moment. After all the preparation, the waiting, the entrance music, the arrival of the flower girl and page boy, then the bridesmaid, there is a wonderful build up of anticipation .... and the bride makes her appearance! https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/here-comes-the-bride/

20.01.2022 The groom was from Queensland and the bride was from Hong Kong, but neither cared too much about the vagaries of Melbourne's summer weather as they exchanged wedding vows in a tranquil corner of Edwardes Park Lake this morning. With close family members as their witnesses, the couple expressed relief and happiness that the pressures of conducting a long-distance relationship were now behind them and they could now look forward to enjoying married life together. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/in-a-tranquil-corner-/

20.01.2022 Everything was perfect for an early Spring outdoor wedding. The bride and groom chose a sand ceremony to symbolise their marriage and their little family. Their gorgeous 2-year old was very excited about pouring her own flask of coloured sand to mingle with the two other colours chosen by her mum and dad. She did it perfectly! The ritual was a colourful and tangible way to express the importance of their little daughter to the bride and groom and also to emphasis the central role that family played in their lives. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/did-the-flower-girl-s/

18.01.2022 Hi Rosemary Thank you for making our wedding day so special. From the first day we met you to the wedding day it was just faultless. Will highly recommend you to anyone looking for a celebrant to get married. I have done a post about you on your site. Many thanks again and take care. Love Ramona https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/ramona-and-stephen/

17.01.2022 It was a happy day for this gorgeous little boy's parents and his adoring big brother and sister as they celebrated his Naming Day with family, friends and neighbours. It may have been Father's Day, but Craig will have to wait in the wings while his baby son takes centre stage. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/fathers-day-gets-move/

17.01.2022 A new, unique unity http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/a-new-unique-unity/

16.01.2022 Both the bride and groom shared a love of the outdoors, so The Farm near Warrandyte was a perfect setting for their marriage ceremony. A wonderful sense of family warmth and friendship surrounded this lovely couple as they exchanged their vows an http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/wedding-at-the-farm/

16.01.2022 Dear Rosemary, Thank you for an incredible ceremony, you were a fantastic host and helped to make the experience so special for us and our guests... and set the perfect tone for our wedding. The rest of the day/night went SO quickly, and we wish we could do it all again. It was fabulous, everything went to plan, and everything was better than we could have dreamed. Suzi and Mark at the Pop-Up Patch http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1572

16.01.2022 The setting at Yering Gorge could not have been more beautiful - green lawns, festoons of roses and delighted guests. Then the rain came down!! The guests sheltered under very welcome umbrellas - originally intended for providing shade! Curious kangaroos came out to watch. The bride and groom were so excited, they hardly noticed and the wedding continued with smiles of happiness from everyone. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/smiles-rain-and-curio/

16.01.2022 Imagine the guests' surprise when the groomsmen produced a trestle, log and handsaw for a German wedding ritual called a Baumstamm Sägen. By working together to saw the log, the couple show how much co-operation and harmony they bring to their marriage and that by working together they can overcome all obstacles! Cheered on by their guests, Liesa and Ravi worked smoothly and persistently to saw their log in half. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/surprise-wedding-rit/

16.01.2022 To move away from family, friends and her small Cambodian village to be married to Matthew, the man she loves, Chantrea showed enormous courage and commitment. She also had to get used to some strange wedding rituals such as throwing her bouquet to the single guests. There were smiles all round as they exchanged vows and wedding rings. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/from-cambodia-with-l/

15.01.2022 The bride and groom chose to marry before their close family members on the deck of his parents' beautiful home overlooking the beach at San Remo. At exactly the right moment, the sun broke through, the sea sparkled below them and they exchanged the wedding vows that they had written for each other. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/sunshine-family-and-h/

15.01.2022 The bride and groom had both written personal wedding vows that they had kept secret from each other until the wedding. It was always going to be an emotional moment, but who could have guessed that the groom would barely contain his tears when it came to saying the words? We all held our breath while he told his high school sweetheart that he had waited 17 years of his life for this moment. 15.01.2022 Winter is usually a quiet time for weddings, but I have been busy with some really happy, family-centred Naming Ceremonies. Both of the little boys pictured were welcomed with the love of family and friends; both had two adoring older sisters and both were given godparents to watch over them as they embarked on their journey through life. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/winter-is-a-time-for-/

15.01.2022 Hello there dear Rosemary Thank you so very much for your perfect work on our very special day! We really cannot thank you enough for guiding us through the lead up to & the event on the day - you realised our vision & so beautifully and respectfully shared this with us and our family and friends - it was ace! 15.01.2022 The candles are lit, the flowers are on display, music is playing softly and the guests are seated - all part of preparing my home office to become the ceremonial space for a wedding. This morning a lovely young couple exchanged their wedding vows before a small group of family members to celebrate their civil wedding in Melbourne. It was a simple, meaningful ceremony before they have a much larger ceremonial wedding festival in Bali next year. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/home-office-wedding/

14.01.2022 The bride loved books so turned pages into petals of flowers to festoon the walls and ceiling of their lovely home, the setting for their marriage ceremony today. Their wedding celebrated friendship - their own long-standing friendship, as well as the friendship of close and lasting friends that they invited to celebrate with them. It was a happy, joyous occasion. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1552

14.01.2022 This beautiful dream catcher framed Marcella and Victor's wedding and captured all the wishes for their happiness that flew around them. Amidst the smiles of close friends and family from all parts of the world, they exchanged their marriage vows while standing beneath the spreading old oak tree in the grounds of Heide. https://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/catching-dreams/

14.01.2022 Flowers formed a cascade above the bride and groom as they celebrated their marriage and their young family in a sunny garden wedding on Saturday. It was particularly nice for me to be part of their life journey as I had celebrated a Naming Day for their first little boy over three years ago. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/flowers-for-garden-we/

14.01.2022 A big party in Bali will follow early next year, but for their small, civil marriage ceremony the happy couple chose to exchange their vows in the garden of the groom's family property. Trees were decorated with pink and white lanterns and magpies sang their congratulations. What an emotional moment it was for the bride whose family were at her home in Russia waiting for photos! http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/a-country-wedding/

13.01.2022 Queens Park couldn't have looked more glorious for this heartfelt celebration of marriage and family. In a symbolic ritual to express their new and unique unity, the bride, groom, and their three children took turns to pour five different coloured sands into a flask. Once combined, the coloured sands can never return to what they were before. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/1805/

13.01.2022 It was a perfect afternoon. The groom, his groomsmen and many close relatives wore kilts and bunches of heather and thistle in their lapels to celebrate their Scottish connections. During the ceremony, the couple participated in a hand fasting ritual, also a Celtic tradition, from which we get the saying of "tying the knot". Their ribbon was in the groom's clan colours, brought all the way from Edinburgh especially for the occasion. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/tartan-kilts-and-celt/

13.01.2022 Gum trees and blue hills of this Bullengarook property made a stunning setting for a wedding. Guests basked in the late afternoon sun as they watched the elegant bride and handsome groom "tie the knot" and exchange the vows that they had written for each other. Their little dog, Yoshi, brought them their wedding rings. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/give-me-a-wedding-amo/

12.01.2022 The words of the poet, Rumi, suited the moment as the bride and groom from Iran joyfully celebrated their marriage in my home yesterday. May these vows and this marriage be blessed May it be sweet milk, this marriage, like wine and halvah http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/may-this-marriage/

12.01.2022 Family and love were central themes in the wedding ceremony. The bride and groom expressed gratitude that their lives have been enriched by so much love - love shared, spoken of, remembered and felt. They wrote a beautiful tribute to their parents, grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends that brought tears to the eyes of many guests. A sense of fun and merriment balanced the emotional moments, such as the song "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" played while the marriage certificates were being signed and the industrial edginess of the setting, the Substation in Newport. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/family-and-love/

11.01.2022 One of the lovely aspects of a Naming Ceremony is the presence of grandparents and sometimes, great grandparents as well. Grandparents play a special role in their grand children's lives. They form part of a chain of love that links the past to the future. This lucky little girl had her two great grandmothers, both in their nineties, to wish her well, as well as her grandmothers and grandfather. 11.01.2022 It was a great wedding! The bride and groom's children blessed their marriage and their Harleys were parked ready to carry them off on their honeymoon. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/harleys-and-rock-n-ro/

11.01.2022 It was a glorious morning on the beach. We took off our shoes and enjoyed the pleasure of sand between the toes. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1576

11.01.2022 The Plane Tree Walk in the Fitzroy Gardens provided a stunning canopy of autumn colours for a very happy wedding on Saturday. Champagne was on hand for everyone to toast the bride and groom at the end of the ceremony.

10.01.2022 When the bride has come all the way from Russia to marry, the first day of Spring is a significant moment to celebrate the first day of their new life together. The groom's parents and sister were really happy to welcome Nura into their family and, after this simple and touching ceremony in my home, they all went off to celebrate in style. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/first-wedding-of-spri/

10.01.2022 The Nevsky Russian restaurant was alive with music, love and laughter as the groom married his beautiful Japanese bride. Their joyful wedding ceremony concluded with the symbolic breaking of a wine glass while the guests shouted Mazeltov! http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/mazel-tov/

08.01.2022 The love generated by marriage equality legislation is definitely in the air. This morning I received my first booking for the lovely venue of Baxter Barn on the Mornington Peninsula.

08.01.2022 A small group - the bride, groom, their baby daughter and the two witnesses - celebrated a lovely, fun-filled wedding in my home this morning. Then, as the autumn sun poured through the windows, we toasted their happiness with a glass of sparkling Moet.

08.01.2022 Who could have imagined that a young man from Brazil would meet the love of his life, a young man from Melbourne, under the Shard in London? The odds were infinitesimal and yet it happened. Excited by the recent change to Australian Marriage Law, Fabiano and Cameron came here to be legally married in a beautiful and emotional family ceremony. Next year, they are off to the Greek island of Naxos to continue the celebrations. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/infinitesimal-odds/

06.01.2022 Winter in Melbourne is a quiet time for weddings, so I am looking forward to the Spring sunshine and lots of beautiful ceremonies ready to go. Unusually for me, I performed a funeral to celebrate the life of a dear old aunt, who passed away earlier this month. She was clearly loved by everyone of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What a wonderful legacy to leave at the end of a long life!

06.01.2022 A smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country invited everyone to enjoy this happy wedding celebration. The bride, groom and their gorgeous little girl also participated in a symbolic ritual of mingling coloured sands that represented their countries. Love of family and honouring of cultural traditions, as well as a great deal of happiness and laughter, made this a very special wedding. I felt http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/welcoming-wedding/

05.01.2022 Hi Rosemary Thank you ever so much for your beautiful ceremony. The memory of it will always remain in my heart. Regards, Maria http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/maria-and-harry-octob/

05.01.2022 After working with a couple over many months to help bring about their beautiful marriage, you can almost feel one of the family. This was the case last week - as the friendliness shows.

05.01.2022 The chuppah provided welcome shade and a gentle breeze stirred the water on the lake at the Royal Botanic Gardens for a beautiful wedding last Saturday. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/oasis-for-a-wedding-o/

05.01.2022 The guests were there to celebrate a first birthday party for the couple's little girl. They had just finished blowing out the candle and singing "Happy Birthday" when I arrived on the scene and swapped the candle for a cute pair of owls dressed as a bride and groom. The penny slowly dropped and happy amazement was visible on everyone's faces. [ 66 more words. ] http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/surprise/

04.01.2022 The lovely couple, Lhamo and Tenzin, brought a little of their Tibetan homeland to their marriage ceremony when they shared a piece of wedding cake. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/a-little-bit-of-tibet/

04.01.2022 One of the readings was a beautiful poem the groom had written for his bride. The other was a favourite of mine called "The Promise" by Eileen Rafter, which ends with the lines: "Do you think then, my love, we should marry - do you?" "Yes" she said smiling "I do". Spring has arrived and with it, this joyful and heartfelt wedding.

04.01.2022 It was a huge personal pleasure to celebrate the marriage of a young man who has almost been part of our family for the last 30 years to his gorgeous, warm-hearted bride. The stunning setting for their ceremony was the Norla Dome in the Mission to Seafarers, Flinders Street. The round room with its soaring domed roof used to be a gymnasium for sailors. Now it's a splendid space for functions with acoustics so good that no microphones are necessary. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1546

03.01.2022 Recently I have been thrilled to receive joyous news from two couples whose marriages I celebrated earlier in this year. They emailed to let me know that a new baby had arrived and included photos (not this one). I feel very privileged that many couples take the time to keep me informed of achieving a new milestone in their lives. It is one of the many pleasures of being a celebrant. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/and-baby-makes-three/

03.01.2022 Hi Rosemary, Thank you for helping make this important occasion such a wonderful experience. We can honestly tell you that it was one of the most memorable days of our lives, it all went so well. We received many compliments regarding how you led the ceremony. Once again, thank you Rosemary for making the 14th of August such a special day that both Harue and myself. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/vadim-and-harue-augus/

02.01.2022 Happiness, sunshine and autumn colours abounded as the bride and groom celebrated their wedding in the lovely gardens of Queens Park in Moonee Ponds on Saturday.

02.01.2022 A white ribbon joined their hands together while this lovely couple "tied the knot" in the Fitzroy Gardens recently. After building their long-distance friendship over years of living and working apart in different cities of the world, they are now looking forward to being together and hope to have a family. A small gathering of family and friends happily witnessed their wedding vows while enjoying the shade of cooling trees and the gentle splash of a nearby fountain. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/a-cool-oasis/

02.01.2022 It was a wedding in the beautiful St Vincents Garden in Albert Park. So what better reading than the poem "Thoughts in a Garden" by R. Gerhardt? "This is a special place, a place where people have brought beautiful living plants, here to establish them, to nurture and care for them, that they may forever surround us with the beauty we now see. And into this place where we stand, you have brought something beautiful -- the relationship that is becoming your marriage. Here you ...are declaring it and pledging it, promising to establish and nurture it. We are aware of the special beauty between the two of you, just as we are aware of the special beauty of this place. We are with you now in this appropriate place to celebrate your relationship as it is and as it is yet to be, and in doing so, we ask only that you remember how your life together will have the same seasons and needs as this garden." 01.01.2022 It's been a long time coming, but as of tomorrow, 9th December 2017, the definition of marriage is now legally "the union between two people". From now, all couples who wish to marry can now lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage with the celebrant of their choice and marry one month later. I'm looking forward to celebrating with many happy couples who will now be free, by law, to be married in Australia. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/rainbow-weddings/

01.01.2022 The scents of Christmas lilies and candles filled the air as this beautiful young couple exchanged the marriage vows they had written for each other and committed to support, love and respect each other for the rest of their lives together. A small gathering of family and friends wished them happiness. http://www.celebrantmelbourne.com.au/?p=1531
