22.01.2022 After so long in isolation, I think humans are going to enjoy interacting again with animals in zoos, children's farms and conservation parks. Our article "Family Animal and Zoo Activities in Melbourne and Victoria" has lots of suggestions. See here: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/family-animal-and-z... Note: Check on opening restrictions before heading off in order to avoid disappointment.

10.01.2022 We went down to the Mornington Peninsula to update our Christmas lights guide and our pick for the best display in this area is the awesome display at 157 Woolleys Road in Bittern. 10.01.2022 It's great to feel the sand between your toes on a beach and I'm sure dogs love that feeling also. During the daylight savings period councils implement more restrictions on when you can exercise a dog off-leash on a beach. We've put together the beaches where dogs can run off-leash ALL YEAR ROUND. See here: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/melbourne-beaches-w

09.01.2022 Ahoy there, me hearties ... We may have zoomed past "Talk Like a Pirate Day" due to lockdown. However, you can now explore a treasure chest full of pirate booty throughout the city by following our pirate map. See here and X marks the spot: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/pirate-activities-i

08.01.2022 The Banyule council has just announced that the iconic Christmas lights along The Boulevard, Ivanhoe will be cancelled this year. That's a pity since we deserve some cheery Christmas lights after the year we've been through. We have put together a guide to find the best of the lights across Melbourne based on what we found last year. We'll keep updating the guide as we get more information.... See here: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/christmas-lights-ar

06.01.2022 Gumnut Park in Donnybrook (northern Melbourne) is a wonderful playground inspired by the stories of May Gibbs' Snugglepot & Cuddlepie. It's got epic gumnut cubbies perched high in the air interconnected with scary rope mesh tunnels and features massive and spectacular slides. Add on a large sandpit, log climbing area, in-ground trampolines, swings, flying foxes, basketball court, skate park, volleyball court, delightful wooden sculptures, shelters, picnic facilities, toilets... AND AN ON-SITE cafe with views across the playground area. This is definitely one of our favourite new playgrounds. See here for more info: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/gumnut-park-playgro

01.01.2022 Added a review for the playground at Cascades On Clyde park in Clyde North. There is playground suited to climbers with a bike track around the outside and picnic facilities. More info: https://www.melbourneplaygrounds.com.au/cascades-on-clyde-p
