23.01.2022 'Botanica' features work produced by Melbourne Polytechnic Certificate IV of Visual Arts, Diploma in Visual Arts and Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development students in response to the natural world. The exhibition comprises 44 selected works on paper, produced in a variety of media including drawing, illustration and printmaking. This exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for students to exhibit their work. For many, this is the first time they have exhibited their work in public and thus represents an important milestone in their creative practice and future careers.

14.01.2022 Today the Victorian Government announced the introduction of a ‘circuit breaker lockdown’, including a range of restrictions which will be in place from 11.59pm Thursday 27 May for seven days. In line with these restrictions, all of Melbourne Polytechnic’s campuses will close from Friday 28 May to Thursday 3 June 2021 inclusive. We will continue to operate remotely. Staff and students will be sent further information about what this means for them via their Melbourne Polytech...nic email address. Melbourne Polytechnic is taking our response to COVID-19 seriously and we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our community. 13.01.2022 This week 58 students and staff from our Sports Turf program were treated to a two-hour discussion and Q&A with Mike O'Keefe from Ohio State University. Ohio State University has one of the most famous collegiate golf courses in the USA and takes on intern 'turfies' from Australia to learn the prestigious ropes. Mike is the Program Manager - College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and also the Program Manager at 'The Ohio Program'. Thank you for your time, Mike.

This initiative is giving Melburnians easy-to-access fresh, locally sourced and sustainably grown produce, while providing farmers with a living wage, to enable a direct-to-consumer network through vegetable subscription boxes. The endangered Growling Grass Frog which can be found as close as Brimbank in Melbourne. If you or your kids are frog-curious, jump on to this free webinar to learn more about our local frogs, where they live and how you can get involved with a community frog-monitoring program. Held on National Threatened Species Day, this event will be presented by a member of Melbourne Water's Frog Census Team and Black Snake Productions. 04.01.2022 Glaas Inc is holding it's first exhibition at the newly established Australian Centre for Glass Design located at the Prahran campus. You can view the 'Lightworkers' exhibition every Wednesday's and Saturday's 11am-4pm from this Saturday 28 November or by appointment. Lightworkers is an experience which aims to uplift and inspire the viewer, elevating mood and energy and promoting positivity in post-lockdown Melbourne. It demonstrates the use of light as part of the palette of the glass artist, and features architectural, studio and sculptural works in glass by experienced makers including Bethany Wheeler, Kate Nixon and Anne Sorensen, as well as works by emerging artists such as Nadine Keegan and Dan Bowran both of whom are students in the current Certificate III course at Melbourne Polytechnic.
