13.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT TO FAMILIES Hey All, We’ve been advised that this season has now been cancelled also. competition is looking at starting again in February 2021 depending on situation with COVID. ... Please be advised the fees you have all already paid at the start of the year will be rolled over for next season. We will have a committee meeting to discuss the extra costs and let you all know at a later date. There will be a few changes made to the competition due to Covid 19 restrictions. Please see below some of the changes that will be made by WBCA. Games will still be run on a 50 minute schedule however they will only be 14 minute halves to allow for the extra cleaning in between games. Timing Rules will be looked at and sent out later. We will need to move to a Cashless door entry this will mean there will be no more door charge for any players, spectators or anyone else to get in. We are still negotiating the cost of the scoresheet but we estimate it will be between $65.00 and $75.00 per team. Clubs should look to build the scoresheet charges into their fee structure and also work out how you are going to charge for teams in finals. Scoresheets for finals will increase greater than the weekly charge once again to cover the extra costs involved for finals. A QR Code system has been installed and will be used at all venues. This will take a while at first for people to get used to but once they adapt it shouldn’t be a problem. Junior players will not have to use the QR Code as they will be ticked in on the scoresheet. As you are all aware now the under 8’s will run as 8 and under for the 1st season Autumn 2021. Re the under 19’s. At this stage the government is only talking about Juniors as being under 18’s. There is a meeting and a BV proposal going to the government re basketball on 23rd October. Once we get a reply from that we can make a decision on the under 19’s.
