Try to find out why people are the way they are first, and then take a closer look at yourself. We often judge others more harshly when they remind us of things we don’t like about ourselves. Learn what triggers you, and how you can navigate resulting conflict with colleagues productively and respectfully. Once people start dropping pretense and start sharing their real selves, it’s easier to be empathetic towards each other. Focusing on our differences reinforces misperceptions and misunderstandings, and prevents us from connecting with each other."
