24.01.2022 I’m focusing on this vision in my head. The sun is shining the flowers have blossomed, walking out the door to warmer weather, mask free and the kids are back to school. So they too can feel like life is normal again. Positive vibes #postlockdownvibes

16.01.2022 I was lucky enough to be Australian Style Institutes feature article this week. Here is my journey of how I got to where I am today. Not only was this an honour but a true testament to the brilliant work they do at preparing up and coming stylists for a future in Personal and Editorial Styling. Thank you ASI for allowing me to share with the community just how a chance encounter changed my path for the future. 'Feel the fear and do it anyway' is a sentiment we live by at Aus...tralian Style Institute and hope to instil into our students. This couldn't be more true for student and Melbourne stylist Mel Johnson. Read how she is empowering women and taking her fear for a ride. "My styling journey started with a chance encounter with a dapper-looking man. This meeting changed everything for me and not in the rom-com movie scene type of way (I’m happily married with two beautiful daughters), but rather through a simple conversation. An avid lover of style, I commented on the man’s outfit and he credited his stylist. ‘Stylist?’, I thought... Cue lightbulb moment here. He opened my mind to possibility and I started asking myself questions like are there jobs for personal stylists? What qualifications do I need? A Google search later and I was launching onto a career path I had never expected to take. After being accepted into the Certificate of Professional Styling and Image course at Australian Style Institute I was shaking with the excitement and anticipation of finally taking the step towards my dream. However with all the excitement came an afterthought that I couldn’t ignore, that self-doubt that so often takes hold: What have I gotten myself into? It took me until the first day I set foot in Australian Style Institute to realise that my fears came from wanting it so badly, maybe a even a little too badly. People time and time again allow their fears to hold them back, but rather than letting myself fall into that trap I knew I needed to use my fears to motivate me. This was a very important lesson to learn and one I credit to Australian Style Institute’s founder Lauren Di Bartolo. It takes parents years to instil this outlook into their children and yet, within those first 5 days of training I went from being lost, to feeling alive. I focused on how I was going to change the way women saw themselves and be able to give them permission to love themselves again. Not only through fashion and style, but through empowerment and encouragement they thought they had lost or never had. My days now see me styling clients around Australia. That feeling of knowing that I have helped them to see their full potential is how I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing."

Here is my quick face routine for fresh hydrated skin. Hope you like it Face oil: coconut oil is better than liquid oil however it’s harder to warm up is freezing cold weather.
