25.01.2022 Details, details, details. If you want your home to stand out from the pack then look at how to vamp up the finer things like these curtain tie backs. Challenge yourself to go against the trends and the grain and choose something that is totally individual and unique. @pinterest
25.01.2022 While everyone is doing selfies were doing shelfies A leaning shelf is a great way to introduce height and interest in those spots that are too small or narrow for a piece of furniture.
24.01.2022 My dream kitchen... Im a rustic charm kinda gal, nothing says personality than a bit of old school character. Cant wait to see what The Block contestants come up with in their kitchens. Anyone else watching?
23.01.2022 Is it bedtime yet? Todays weather has me feeling sleepy. Thats a lie. My 5 month old is definitely the reason for that.
23.01.2022 I love contrast which is why I chose a dark coloured sofa up against this oak cabinetry. Finding balance between light and dark is key to a harmonious space.
23.01.2022 There is something so beautiful about the way sheer curtains fall don’t you think? Their softness is romantic, letting that perfect amount of filtered light in. General rule of thumb is to double the length of material for that perfect s-fold and instant wow factor. Your welcome
22.01.2022 What does it take to create a harmonious room? Layers. For us styling a room starts with art selection first. Then I lean into the tone of that artwork to build on the look. If its a Scandinavian print like this one I select a bead head, side tables and lamps that fit that theme. I always choose the linen last and I have been an advocate for a mean karate chop Every room needs a starting point. Choose a hero in the space and build the room around it so it shines.
22.01.2022 Same same but different. This table by @interiorsecrets was the perfect size at 130cm long for this apartment space and paired beautifully with the oak cabinetry. Its all in the details
21.01.2022 Pretty pinks in this Rosanna residence.
20.01.2022 What we love more than transforming homes is getting feedback like this. We have been lucky enough to meet the most wonderful people through this business. Thank you Kym for your heartfelt words.
20.01.2022 The most common question we get asked is ‘where do I begin when starting the style concept for a room?’. I always look for a hero piece first. That might be the artwork, a cool cushion, a bold rug....you see where I’m going. Pick your hero and then build around it. This room had decorative wardrobe panels so we paired back everything else so they didn’t clash or compete. Balance is key
19.01.2022 Adding pockets of detail and interest in a room is important in creating a welcoming home that reflects your personality. Blending elements is about balancing different heights, shapes and textures. You may have a collection of decor that doesnt work individually but by grouping them the right way they form a beautiful statement. I tend to group in odd numbers with a tall, medium and short piece on a tray or base. I also like to add something living like flowers, a plant or an organic shape. Tag me in pictures of your favourite corners of your house so I can share your beautiful spaces.
19.01.2022 Winter layers....
18.01.2022 Dreaming of warmer days ahead
18.01.2022 We dont just promise, we deliver.
16.01.2022 Onwards and upwards....when layering a room make sure you add different heights like a floor lamp, plant or leaning ladder to add interest and create balance.
15.01.2022 Who is going to miss working from home when this madness ends?
15.01.2022 Swipe for before and after. I know what youre thinking....yes styling does make a difference. Its even more important in this market. Contact us for a free quote. This Northcote property coming soon via @woodardsnorthcotepreston
14.01.2022 Fun fact Friday. I used to work in Real Estate. While I was never a sales agent I did learn quite a bit from them. You want to know why styling is crucial when selling your home? Well....the truth is an empty space can actually appear smaller than a furnished one. Some people dont have the imagination to see a room layout in their minds, so having a stylist make it clear for them helps purchasers visualise living there. Once the doors open back up for the Real Estate industry I predict its going to get real busy and if you havent considered styling your property for sale then I urge you do. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
14.01.2022 This Rosanna property SOLD in just over a week going to market. We partially styled this property using the vendors sofa. Yes we do that and yes we still get winning results. Well done @nelsonalexanderrealestate
13.01.2022 Hanging art is my hubbys speciality in our business. We dont just tap a hook in the wall and off we go. There are several elements we consider. Focal points, position, scale, weight, eye level and the composition of the wall its going on. Are there windows or door frames that it needs to align with (like in this picture), is the wall solid brick, how many hooks do we need, is it drawing the eye to the right spot of the room? Thats why we hang art last and it takes us the most time. We make sure its perfect every time.
13.01.2022 These clients now have an offer on their property, even in this current climate. Well done @jasondestefano #stylingsells
13.01.2022 I wish I could stay in bed all day.....oh wait I can. Who else is loving this time at home?
12.01.2022 Lets talk natural light. Now that were spending more time at home, it is SO important to flood a space with it as much as possible. It will make it feel bigger, brighter and more welcoming. Look at how your current window treatments are affecting the amount of light into your rooms. There are some great alternatives to drapes or curtains. Blinds, shutters, sheers or a combination of the three could be explored to create soft light without comprising on function.
12.01.2022 The morning sun today is just no this isnt my lounge room. Its too organised. This little beauty in Albert Park is being sold by @jasondestefano
11.01.2022 Preserved flowers for the win, thanks @bunchabouttown for this gorgeous arrangement
11.01.2022 Working from home....do you have a dedicated space or is the dining table, couch, bed, kitchen bench your study zone? I gravitate towards the room with the most natural light to work even though we have a study.
10.01.2022 Transformation Thursday.....yeah I just made that up but this is a pretty cool before and after. The most underrated tools in a sales campaign is a brush and a tin of paint. Selling soon? I hear Bunnings deliver. Antique White. Youll thank me later.
09.01.2022 I know Ive harped on this before but light is everything when designing a space. While natural light is key, injecting function and personality into a room via lamps, wall sconces, pendants is paramount when creating a stylish room. They add height, form and balance and create ambience and a decorative statement. Pinterest
07.01.2022 If this is what we can do with older homes, imagine what we do with new ones.
07.01.2022 monochrome (adj) /mnkrm,mn()krm/ a style developed or executed in black and white or in varying tones of only one colour.
06.01.2022 Simple. Understated. Elegant.
06.01.2022 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. The same applies to artwork. Do you like abstract? Photographic? Bold or muted colours? Whatever youre drawn to, when it comes to art, always, ALWAYS go with what you love. Layer them, lean them, create a picture wall or simply hang. When it comes to art, follow your heart Do you like what I did there? Were stylists and poets
06.01.2022 Dont underestimate the impact a rug can have. It can make or break a room. Too small and the the area wont be adequately zoned and feel smaller than it is. Wrong pattern or colour and it could clash with the furniture around it. A rug is an investment piece. Look at it the same way you look at a piece of furniture and not as a cheap add on. Consider the space and the function of the rug. Does it need to be hard wearing because its in a high traffic area or soft and luxurious? Whatever it needs to be, just remember bigger is better and you get what you pay for.
04.01.2022 We live this at MSM. From the level of service to the inventory we carry, we strive to deliver quality in every aspect of what we do. Our past and present clients will attest to this. I guarantee it.
04.01.2022 How do you get that luxe look in the bedroom? I find less is more. If you have a statement piece of artwork then pare back everything else so it shines. If you want to hero the bed then introduce pattern and texture so the eye is drawn there. Sometimes using understated art and vamping up the bedding is enough to create a timeless look. If your space calls for it then add a rug and a bench seat at the end of the bed for extra glamour. styling for @l3_home
04.01.2022 To think we complained that we had to go to work.....what a privilege it is to have a job right now. There are some uncertain times ahead for us with the PM introducing more restrictions last night, but one thing for certain is we will navigate through this as best we can. Sending love and light to you all
03.01.2022 Have a look at my story if youre interested in knowing about what I think will be this seasons hottest colours and trends. You can also view it under Tips & Tricks @eadie_lifestyle
02.01.2022 Layers. This is a word I use often. I find the most interesting rooms consist of a mix of new and old. Look at your home like a blank canvas and the layers the paint. Dont be afraid to display that sentimental piece if it means something to you. Your home should tell a story of your loves and memories. Pinterest
02.01.2022 Don’t be afraid to be bold. When working with a completely neutral palette, a way of injecting personality is via a coloured sofa. Be brave! @l3_home
01.01.2022 That winter sun
01.01.2022 Don’t underestimate the impact plants have in your space. Yes I’m a sucker for the faux type but nothing beats the real thing. My rule of thumb is aim at having greenery in every room. Placing them at different heights is also a way of making them a statement.
