21.01.2022 CW: Mentions of suicide prevention If youre a young person looking to get involved in film and are passionate in areas around mental health, this is the perfect opportunity for you! The Centre for Mental Health at the University of Melbourne is looking for 18-24 year old Victorian residents to help develop some 30-second suicide prevention campaign ads. ... These are designed for young people and will be run online, television and cinemas. Team up with a partner who youd like to make the ad with Go to https://bit.ly/2tqWnrA and fill in the application form together, telling us a little bit about yourselves, letting us know why you are interested in making the ad, and giving us a general idea of what your ad might look like Submit the application form by 20 July 2018. Well shortlist 25 teams to spend a day at a summit with suicide prevention experts and creative consultants. If your team gets shortlisted, you and your team mate will come to the summit and learn about suicide prevention, mental health and wellbeing, resilience, coping strategies and safe ways of talking about suicide, and youll be given tips on developing an engaging and informative ad. The summit be held at the University of Melbourne on 31 July 2018. Some financial support may be available for those who have to travel to get there. People in rural and regional areas are encouraged to apply. Shortlisted teams will start making their ads at the summit and will then go away and finish creating them over the following weeks. The ads will then be judged by a panel of international suicide prevention experts. The team that submits the best ad will win $1,000 and be given the opportunity to work with our creative consultants to make it ready to show on screen.
