24.01.2022 This is Chino- one of my beautiful senior greyhound patients who came to see me for treatment of osteoarthritis in his hips. He wasn’t so sure at the beginning of the session but relaxed into the immediate effects of acupuncture after a few minutes. Well done Chino! #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #greyhoundsofmelbourne #dogsofmelbourne

22.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of meeting Nina (Italian greyhound puppy) and April (greyhound). Nina has a congenital spinal deformation in her sacrum with faecal incontinence and April started supportive treatment for chemotherapy after having one of her hind legs amputated due to osteosarcoma. Both did amazingly well and Nina (even though she is a bubbly puppy) nodded of and enjoyed the sun bath on the table. I look forward to helping those 2 beautiful ladies on their journey. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #greyhoundsofmelbourne #iggiesofmelbourne

20.01.2022 Madam doesn’t approve of having pictures taken during treatment but she certainly doesn’t mind when she is passed out in her bed afterwards (with a selection of treats by her side). Pinky is now off all pain medication and is feeling much better (she was treated for an injury of her gluteal muscle and very tight scar tissue from a previous dog attack). #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogacupuncture #dogsofstkilda #greyhoundsofmelbourne

18.01.2022 Two of my very much loved patients made their journey over the rainbow bridge today. It has been a difficult journey for everyone involved and my heart is breaking knowing of the pain my wonderful dog owners are left behind with. Rest In Peace Jack and Patch- it was a blessing to be able to share your path. #veterinaryacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #palliativecarefordogs #rainbowbridge

18.01.2022 Oscar is a gorgeous 3year old Labrador -we started his treatment today for traumatic spinal cord injury whilst playing fetch 5 weeks ago. He is a rather anxious little man but did SO well with his first treatment and I look forward to seeing him over the next few weeks. #veterinaryacupuncture #labradorsofmelbourne #dogsofmelbourne #elwoodvet @ Elwood Veterinary Clinic

16.01.2022 I usually have at least one observer when I come to see my oldies at home- in this case it’s Pedro and Tank watching me closely while I treat their sister Moo (a 17year old beagle x). I truly love my furry audience #veterinaryacupunture #dogacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #dogsofstkilda

15.01.2022 Separation anxiety and thunderstorm phobias are common behaviour problems in dogs. Alfie had his 3rd treatment with acupuncture today and we are also using a combination of Chinese herbs and western medication to help him overcome his troubles. So far he is doing very well and is improving every week. It’s so rewarding seeing him relax into his zen zone during treatments. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #sighthoundofmelbourne #anxietyindogs #dogsofmelbourne

12.01.2022 This is beautiful Ritchie. He had his TPLO plate removed at Southpaws on Tuesday. He has developed severe muscle tension and myofascial pain from long-standing stifle problems and I have been treating him @southpawsvet after his procedures to avoid unnecessary travel for him. He went into the typical acupuncture trance caused by immediate release of endorphins and dynorphins (the body’s own pain relief substances) and had a good sleep after his treatment. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #caninerehab

12.01.2022 Harvey is an 11year old spoodle who was referred to me by his local vet and received his 3rd treatment today for neck pain and forelimb lameness. He has made a remarkable recovery and is now off all pain medication. He is back to his sparkly self and can enjoy his walks in the beautiful sunshine. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne

12.01.2022 Despite the new restrictions and difficulties we are all facing, veterinary services remain essential and I will be consulting as normal at Elwood Vet and conducting home visits where it is appropriate. Please follow the government guidelines, wear a mask ( also when I come to your home) and let me know if you are unwell or have been in contact with anyone who is. In certain circumstances I can arrange a phone consultation and postage of prescriptions and herbs. We have to stay positive and let our pooches safe our sanity. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #elwoodvet

11.01.2022 Look at these two cuties- Ruby (left) recently celebrated her 16th birthday and has been treated for osteoarthritic pain and canine cognitive dysfunction (doggy dementia) with acupuncture and herbs- she has responded extremely well to treatment. Her brother Mac is enjoying the sessions just as much, as he gets free treats from the mobile vending machine #veterinaryacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #petacupuncture #dogsofportmelbourne #olddogsofinstagram

10.01.2022 At least some good news for all pets that urgently need grooming:

09.01.2022 Volta is enjoying his treatment on his mum’s lap while Zoso is enjoying the post-acupuncture endorphin/dynorphin kick in deep relaxation. Zoso is receiving treatment to ease symptoms of Chiari malformation whilst Volta needs help with chronic pain management due to spondylosis in his cervical/thoracic and lumbar spine. #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #dogsofmelbourne #chiarimalformation #caviesofmelbourne

09.01.2022 One of my beloved greyhound patients - Lonnie- made her journey over the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. During many months and often years of treating my patients, a very special bond develops with the dogs and also with the owners. I am heartbroken for Lonnie’s owner but am also grateful to have met Lonnie and for the opportunity to make her life more enjoyable for the time she had. #veterinaryacupuncture #greyhoundsofmelbourne #petacupuncture #palliativecareforpets

08.01.2022 A rare surprise in the day of a veterinary acupuncturist- today I treated Elle, a maiden ewe for postpartum paresis after twin birth. She did incredibly well and her two little boys as well as a beautiful rooster could not contain they’re curiosity. #veterinaryacupuncture #sheepofmelbourne #animalacupuncture

08.01.2022 It’s international dog day today. To me, every single day is dog day and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to work with the love of my life day in day out. No words can describe the joy and happiness dogs bring to our lives and every minute of the day spent with our furry friends makes the day so much better. I could not imagine a life without dogs#internationaldogday #dogsofinstagram #dogsmelbourne #dogsarehappiness #workingwithdogs #friendsforlife

08.01.2022 I received this video today of one of my older greyhound patients- Maisey is a 12 year old lady - I have been treating her over the past few months for forelimb lameness from an old racing injury, marked hind leg weakness and lower back pain. With a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs we have achieved great results and now Maisey is going for little runs again and even getting her toys out to play. She is a champion #veterinaryacupuncture #petacupuncture #greyhoundsofmelbourne #dogsofmelbourne

03.01.2022 This is Mannie- a gorgeous and absolutely lovely 4 year old foster greyhound -he is currently undergoing treatment for muscular injuries and tightness after finishing racing. He is settling into his new life as a beloved pet really well in the loving care of his foster carer Cal and will hopefully find a beautiful forever home in the coming weeks. #gumtreegreys #calsav #veterinaryacupuncture #acupunctureforgreyhounds #greyhoundsofmelbourne

03.01.2022 Pinky in her Zen Zone after her first acupuncture treatment last night for a painful muscle injury of her left hind leg . She wasn’t too sure about all this at the beginning but certainly enjoyed the immediate effects of relaxation and pain relief that acupuncture brings. #veterinaryacupuncture #dogacupuncture #greyhoundsofmelbourne #caninewellness
