Physical hunger can usually be satisfied by any type of food and doesn't need to be immediately satisfied. But as your brain begins to signal the need for food feelings of irritability, tiredness and poor concentration are common. Physical hunger involves awareness of food choices and typically doesn't stimulate feelings of guilt after eating. Here we've outlined a few key differences in recognising physical vs. head hunger to SAVE and help you identify and determine what kind you're feeling. Recognising and understanding the differences between head and physical hunger is vital in taking control of our sometimes negative psychological eating habits. Psychological hunger triggers can often be deep-rooted and require more in-depth coping strategies to work through them. 22.01.2022 R U OK?Day is Thursday 10 September 2020. Its our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with lifes ups and downs. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. In the lead-up to R U OK? Day well help Australians know what to say ...when someone says theyre not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. @ruokday

08.01.2022 #Repost @foodfreedom_ What kinds of issues come up on a weight loss surgery journey? What are the 'red flags' that might lead to relapse? These are what episode #29 asks on The Reverse The Relapse After WLS Podcast. This week on the podcast is a special guest, Michael Hii. Michael is an Osphogeal & Bariatric surgery at Melbourne Gastro Osphoegeal surgery. I’ve worked in the WLS clinic in the team with Michael since 2016, and Michael is a big believer in psychological... services to support WLS and that’s what we are going to unpack today. We ask these key questions: When does weight regain after wls become an issue and why does this become an issue? WLS is just a tool. We’ve heard it all before. So what did the patients not realise pre-surgery that they learned after surgery? Michael refers a lot of patients to me in the WLS clinic, so I ask him what are the red flags that he sees that prompts him to send them my way both pre-surgery and post-surgery? This is an episode you won't want to miss, whether you've had WLS or are still considering it. . . . . . . . . . . #Vsgsurgery #Wlstransformation #healthyeatingjourney #Rnycommunity #Bariatricbabes #emotionaleatingrecovery #Rnylife #Rnyjourney #Vsgjourney #Vsginstacrew #Gastricbypass #Wlsjourney #Rny #Wlssupport #Vsgfamily #Wls #Wlscommunity #Vsgcommunity #Gastricsleeve #Vsglife #Weightlosssurgery #Wlsjourney #Vsgjourney #Bariatric #Vsgsupport #Rnygastricbypasssurgery #Bariatriccommunity #Bariatricsleeve #Verticalsleevegastrectomy #Verticalsleeve See more

01.01.2022 A lot of patients have reported poor food choices and less activity during lockdown. How can we work towards making good food choices and staying active during this time? It helps to understand what is happening to our brains during lockdown. Being under a period of prolonged stress, decisions outside of our regular daily tasks, become more difficult. We are more sensitive to sensory information and experience poor quality of sleep. With low levels of motivation and positiv...e feedback, we are consuming more artificial rewards - food and alcohol - to make us feel good. Sound familiar? It takes time to recover from stress, so it may take time to feel back to normal. Remember, the benefits of safe exposure to vitamin D and exercises outway the discomfort of wearing a mask. Have healthy snacks; fruit, vegetable sticks & nuts (not drowned in chocolate) available. Check out @weightlosssurgerysupport for more snack ideas. Your body is trying to cope with our current circumstances, be compassionate to yourself and others.
