25.01.2022 Hello YCW community, friends, family and volunteers Last weekend, we drove approximately seven hundred kilometres home from Adelaide i.e 'The City of Churches.' Tiyami Pa'gan Amum brought five of us Melbournians to Adelaide for the YCW Leadership camp.... THANK YOUs: Adelaide Young Christian Workers: - for greeting us when we arrived at 10pm that night when we were tired, hungry and a little crazy. - for hosting us in the lovely St Joseph's Retreat Centre - for feeding us ( like when Mani Jayaratnam's mother's prepared for us lentil and rice dishes which nourished our souls). Marilyn Bellett - for your energy, passion and committment to the YCW's formation of leaders, work and vocation and teachings of the SEE, JUDGE, and ACT principles in our own realities. -- Together there from two different cities... we: -shared about our involvement with YCW -shared about our current social projects with YCW -reflected over the year and planned goals for the next 6 months -gave each other support, resources and feedback to help us growwwww Thank you Tiyami Pa'gan Amum and Umes Acharya for making this happen! From the Empower Rangers - -Tiyami, Lily, Trinh, Achut, Adau & Julianne

15.01.2022 If you've ever wondered what a Christian view is on freedom of speech or sex... or every day issues such as managing money... Questioned whether a God really ...exists or what your purpose is here... Considered sharing your personal views on life events such as terrorism, massacres or aid & relief after natural disasters... Or wondered WHEN your friends are hosting their Youth Sabbath so you can excuse yourself from church duties for a week to go support & not go AWOL on your pastor... Here's a place for answers. We're here to go beyond the pulpit, by diving deep into relevant matters that affect our communities and using our voices. We are WAYMAKER. And we've started a Talk Show called PERSPECTIVE: A safe space to share perspectives on faith, culture and life! We'd love you to be a part of the movement. Comment down below what you'd love for us to talk about! & PLEASE SHARE THIS VID - cuz we need 100 subs to make a youtube URL teehee. Episode 1: "What To Look For In A Partner" dropping Monday, at 5pm https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDSS-7kfcSVE-hyMtHd5Djw

11.01.2022 Helloooo humans of YCW, friends and community #newyearnewMYCW Over the past weekend, approximately 25 days into 2020... Four Melbournians this time drove to Mount Eliza to catch up with other beings from across Australia for YCW's National Council. ... 3 DAY HIGHLIGHTS: - We heard from our fellow YCW neighbours and listened to their updates and doings. - We brainstormed, discussed ideas in potential actions in areas of Precarious Work/Wage Theft, Migrants, Refugees and International Students, Women, Mental Health & Students to prepare us for the NEXT TWO YEARS! - We learnt about the history of our First Nations ancestors #truthtelling and contemplated what Australia really means. - We reflected on what it means to be a LEADER and the capabilities and stories we can help support each other do work through their unique calling. -- WE WILL REMEMBER: ...the late night dances, singing and ghost stories from Mani Jayaratnam ...the epic Newcombe late night game using Thomas' car headlights ...and the epic curry made by YMCA Camp Manyung ... I hope those who slept outside did not catch a cold! -- FINALLY: - The YCW 'Do With' motto will stick with me for the rest of my life. - Congrats and we pray for the new executive team and our Generation Connection Campaign to fulfil God's work, and the Mission #2020herewecome THANK YOU beautiful humans from: Australian Young Christian Workers (AYCW) -Ycw Parramatta/ Parramatta Young Christian Workers (YCW) (Elizabeth McFarlane, Joe Magri, Marilyn Bellett, Josh, Thomas Magri Christina Rujicica, Irene Baik, Ana Laura Casagrande, Alicja Borciuch & Sean Robert Gehrig -Adelaide Young Christian Workers - YCW (Abhishek Shrestha, Ada Snell , Umes Acharya, Mani Jayaratnam & Elise. -Young Christian Workers Perth (Marie, Fred Sim, Travis D'Souza, Meka McCormack, Rachael & Alyssa) -Townsville YCS - Jason Hill& Elise Ganley -Melbourne Young Christian Workers (Tiyami Pa'gan Amum, Adau Bar, Achut Thuc, Trixies Thanh Tran & Lily Nguyen And to Ex YCW humans, YCW Holdings, other volunteers and helpers! 10.01.2022 Dear humans of YCW, followers, friends and our wider YCW community, I wanted to touch base with the #covidlockdown 1. Check-in how each of you each are, where ever you are at the moment - with the power of technology that we can see and read this and be connected is one of the most grateful things that I have been valuing. 2. I am aware that the period of Lent is still going and that one of the most important days of the year to celebrate is just around the corner #Easter2020... Our MYCW team are still here and breathing (and eating lots as usual ) as we are navigating ways to still connect in this uncertain period... #Zoomparties -- We may have lost our job, have challenging times with our finances, but we still have each other... To encourage our #generationconnect mission, let's reflect and sink in these words: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Shalom. -Julianne and the MYCW team Note: First photo is mass at the St Albans Holy Eucharist(12pm service) As you can see the other photos were before we needed to #physicallydistance ourselves at the YCW Brunswick House.
