23.01.2022 Bald eagle begins rehabilitation prior to release - Manuka Wound Gel used for wound care in the eagle’s recovery. The eagle required multiple surgeries to remove bone fragments from a fracture site due to a bullet wound that required daily dressings.
17.01.2022 Juvenile flying-fox named Duncan, was caught on a barbed wire fence. Duncan was originally seen by vets at Australia Zoo. They reattached a flap of membrane that had been peeled back from his wrist by the barbed wire. Duncan gets very excited when MWG is applied, the biggest problem is keeping his tongue away from it long enough to get a dressing on. Bats love honey! http://www.bats.org.au/
12.01.2022 Good feedback this week from the US on the use of our Manuka Wound Gel on an injured American Bald Eagle. The Eagle sadly had a bullet wound. The high viscosity honey gel reduces the need for a secondary dressing. Manuka Wound Gel for veterinary use is being promoted nationally in Australia this month through VCA and Dr Neil's with a bonus deal.
11.01.2022 A small pilot study started using our Optimel eye drops on Koala eyes infected with Chlamydia. Chlamydia is a significant cause of infertility, urinary tract infections, and inflammation in the lining of the eye resulting in blindness.
