19.01.2022 Hi, my name is Georgia McDonald and I am a Project Manager at Melco, I grew up in Cairns and relocated to Gladstone after finishing high school, where I commenced studying mechanical engineering. I have worked in construction and engineering workshops for most of my working life, starting at Walz Group in Gladstone, before moving into project coordination/management positions at various other companies throughout the Gladstone region before relocating to Mackay in 2018 and co...mmencing with Melco. I have been with the company for a bit over a year and really enjoy being a part of the challenging but rewarding work we do. I’m involved in most of the projects that Melco complete in the Paget workshop in Mackay and work closely with the production team to execute the jobs by controlling project schedules, material procurement, meeting quality compliance, subcontractor management and client liaison. We have a highly motivated and largely young workforce here at Melco, with everyone having great pride in what they do and a drive to succeed. It’s a great work environment and the team we have here make it enjoyable to come to work every day.

14.01.2022 At Melco Engineering we do like our good news stories. Here is Trey's story. We are glad to have you on-board kiddo! Hi! My name is Trey, I am 16 years old and currently working towards obtaining my Trade Certificate in Boiler making. I left school after finishing year 10 at North Mackay High to pursue the opportunity at Melco Engineering. I started working with Melco on the 21/10/19 as a Jnr. T/A doing general housekeeping duties on the workshop floor and assisting as ...directed by my supervisor. Melco then offered me the opportunity to start my 1st year apprenticeship to be a Boilermaker with them, I grabbed the opportunity! I started my Apprenticeship on the 2/12/19 and have been doing some grinding, painting and shadowing tradesmen, I am learning new skills every day. I am so glad I took the chance by working hard as T/A, this is allowing me to follow my dreams. I started working on my first big project on a drag-line bucket by doing some small fabrication work, I will always remember it as my favorite project because it will be my first of many big fabrication jobs I will be working on. I am enjoying the big team environment and appreciate all the assistance from the guys on the workshop floor as well as the Supervisors. I look forward to completing my Trade Certificate with Melco and keep working with them for a long time to come. Outside of work, I have a big extended family with 5 brothers and 2 older sisters, and I am the proud owner of my L plates and I am saving to buy my very own car! My hobbies are off road motorbike riding. I also love fishing and I go out on my boat as much as I can.

Our Bowen facility completed repair and overhaul work on this EH3500 Jaws Tray for one of our valued customers, heading back to the client today 3 March 2020. It’s got a new Floor, new fabricated side walls to increase capacity, completed with a full blast and paint with QCoal Livery
