12.01.2022 2021 I know many people have been waiting for this post..... wondering when I would return after the Christmas / New Year break . I needed to take some extended time , I was physically and mentally exhausted... and have needed to recharge those batteries ....... plus spending time with my little family and recently watching my little one enjoy swimming lessons in an ongoing intensive program has been wonderful This year is already looking big .... Bigger than last year . COVID pushed all my booked weddings from last year into this year and now also have many couples looking to book this year that became engaged through last year . Yep it’s going to be BIG , exciting but BIG !!! I really have missed Weddings and I’m looking forward to kicking off with the first one on the 6th of Feb I may have to make some changes this year as to how things will be managed in term of custom designs / Custom bouquet pickups / deliveries and I will certainly look at this as the months go on . I want to be able to produce the best I can and be the best I can in all of my creative work, but being A One Woman Show and a mum is certainly demanding and keeps me on my toes I already have many orders for this week and have limited supply. So..... Due to the heatwave weekend on its way, Australia Day Public holiday and many people still away , I will wait till next Thursday the 28th Jan to be back in full for a better supply of fresh florals. I’m looking forward to this year and the creativity and magic I will bring to the table !!! 07.01.2022 I haven’t lifted my head out of flowers for most of the weekend Ive been working on a beautiful wedding for a lovely couple , that will be married tomorrow plus working on other gorgeous custom pieces I have been creating quite a lot of intricate wired work lately... it’s my thing...I love the intricate designs and how creative I can be with these, but I’m not going to lie , my joints in my hands and wrists tend to take a batteringI love seeing the finished result and ...I know that keeps me going and pushing through any discomfort. 04.01.2022 Casey and Harrison - Ceremony A arbor of dreams for this couple filled with white Peony roses, white @bushroses , babies breath, mum chrysanthemums, delphiniums, snapdragons and sage green gum 34 degrees and keeping this arbor looking A1 condition was a feet, dowsing buckets of water regularly to keep the flowers well hydrated .... Eucalyptus Gum and fabric bows lined the aisle On each chair- the gum was certainly feeling it by the ceremony time with the heat unfortunately.The welcome sign had a touch of gum and florals to complete the look A massive Thank-you to my helper Brenda on Friday , helping with the tedious tasks and my husband @matt_sheffield_photography , when my brain had a malfunction and he drove from Yass to Sutton Forrest with the chair ribbons that I had forgotten . Every creation I design for a beautiful life is an honour and every life is Unique , so designing Sympathy Tributes that represent the loved one that has passed on is very important to me This tribute was created for a much loved Gentleman recently . A native wildflowers bush theme with so much detail.... Wildflowers are always in short supply in January but with the help of many suppliers and other florists I was able to produce a fitting tribute . Horseshoes , A Rabbit trap and foliage’s from his property were included and I added a small replica rabbit hole to complete the design . 01.01.2022 Creating with flowers is my absolute passion and I love that I still love creating and making many people happy with my creations for 26 years now. However , this week, with a beautiful Wedding in the Southern Highlands , creating on site for this and also custom orders, and just being a mum - it’s becoming one full week of splitting myself in two, three , sometimes four. I find it hard to say No to clients. I feel like like I’m letting them down if I say No. (I don’t say ...No very often) but this week I have had to and I feel disappointed I haven’t been able to for fill their requests Custom orders will have to be on hold until next week while I concentrate on the Wedding this week. This wedding needs my full attention and manpower flower magic . Many people ask whether I should have an apprentice or have another florist employed for times like this - but I struggle with the fact that I would definitely need to teach and train them my ways and skills( and I love teaching ) , but I don’t always have the time . The other issue is that when a client asks for a design , they are asking me to create this not someone else . I also want everyone to receive a design that has been made with my hands So I guess - It’s a hard line , I sort of need to clone a few of me . I wanted to Thank everyone for being patient and understanding this week and especially for the support of my work. I feel so very humbled and so overwhelmed for the love of my floral creations . 01.01.2022 A Custom Bouquet of Warm Tones on a Warm Day As we now head into the beginning of warmer weather, it’s important to remember that flowers love a fresh drink of water just like we do If you receive a bouquet of my flowery goodness-Always remember to recut the stems of your bouquet before placing into water and change water every second day if possible . Clean your vase with bleach to keep bacteria away from your floral stems , and keep out of direct sun or warmth to ensur...e longevity of your flowers. Most people would notice on some of my designs I have a signature wrap of lotus leaves wrapped around the designs.
