15.01.2022 Home, moments ago. The skies colour, cloud sculptures, waters transparency and depth, all inform my work consciously and unconsciously. Not all days are created equal, but most days this view from my lounge room can bring me back to presence, back to my breath, back to stillness. And when the skies light up, time has no meaning, worries dissolve, heart and mind fulfilled, immersion the only option.

13.01.2022 2012 when I painted with oil sticks only, mostly flowers, & the dry peeled off edges from the stick was worked back into the painting. Collage of sorts, but it started from a concern about wastage and aiming for a minimal footprint on our planet. The aesthetic in most cases is incredibly intriguing, raised surface and dimension which gives the viewer not only a front on picture but a 180 degree picture that changes and transforms with light and placement. . In this image, wh...ich is a detailed section of a larger piece the green and mid blue marks in the centre section are dried oil stick peels within wet oil stick. Dodgy old iPhone pic, but gives you some idea. . My current works which I’ve not shared yet, have revisited some of my old ways in harmony with what you see now. . 03.01.2022 New show underway. Delving into the Tarot. The tarot most popularly is understood as being a fortune telling device, I personally don’t think so, which I’ll cover why at a later stage. I feel it’s best use is to promote self-understanding when pursing transformation and personal growth. It can open our awareness to our inner workings and motivations and awaken us to new insights, considerations and alternatives.... By tweaking our perceptions, challenging our viewpoint we can often solve our so-called problems and create a new way of being, a more conscious way. . The tarot is traditionally 78 cards, divided into the major arcana of 22 cards & the minor arcana of 56 cards. . For my show I will be exploring all the major arcana. Btw arcana means mysteries or secrets. Traditionally the major arcana represent spiritual or archetypal energies, or significant aspects of our personalities, which each of us possess in our psychological makeup, or have the potential to develop. . In the Art of Pilgrimage author Phil Cousineau writes that questions tune the soul. Their purpose is to initiate the quest, whether by outer or inner travel. He reminds us that those who don’t ask questions, don’t find what’s most authentic. . With so much to share I’m in the process of building a new website to share all I know and continue to learn as I paint this path..details when they’re available. .
