23.01.2022 Sometimes the problems we see are actually great problems to have

19.01.2022 Isn't that true.

18.01.2022 The government may be changing the rules relating to access to mental health services. It means only Clinically Registered Psychologists can provide some services under medicare. As a General Registered Psychologist this change will effect me and the services i can provide under Medicare Better Access. This means the rebate my patients get will become possibly far less. Pls join me in signing this partition and sharing this far and wide.

12.01.2022 Australia has ALOT to learn about how to treat our elderly. This is such an inspiring video about how the Netherlands do things. Our culture is so "death phobic" - we send our elderly off into nursing homes like they have become obsolete and just wait to die. Away from their former life what dignity they have left as they are aging is stripped away through the impersonal care and the lack of focus on quality of life. This model for care in the Netherlands seem to have it right. What the hell are we doing here in Australia?

09.01.2022 What an evocative visual representation this is below. When we stay in the tug-of-war by needing to be right or maintaining a certain position in conflict, sometimes (i'd say often) it creates more damage holding on than loosening our grip on our "rightness." Loosening our position and letting go of being right means creating more space and flexibility for something new to arise within us or between us.

08.01.2022 Gosh, I must admit, When my son was younger I was so averse to toys that involved fighting and violence. I definately adopted the "I don't want my child learning that violence is acceptable" mantra. That said, these days I have eased up on that view. I watch him fairly regularly playfight these days with his siblings and stepdad. Typically I watch on slightly nervously as he pushes and extends his own strength and limits. In theory I do know that it is developmentally sound to playfight but it hasn't felt comfortable sometimes for me to watch. This article has really contextualised play fighting beautifully and explained the deep purpose behind it. I have fresh, more informed eyes after reading it and wanted to share it with you. Thanks Jo Field for sharing xx

08.01.2022 This evocative quote really struck me. This is so beautifully put. We all have our shadows and wounds to heal. Life can be less messy when we do the work we need to do for recovery, understanding and self connection. We can at least learn to look after our wounds a little better. Therapy can be a great gift to yourself as well as those who are close to you.

07.01.2022 This amazing photo really puts things into perspective. What may feel like an immense issue in our daily life is barely a speck of dust on a speck of dust on a speck ... once we "zoom out" and see our place in our bigger universe. When I really take in this image, I feel strangely confronted and comforted at the same time! What does it stir in you?

04.01.2022 As the last few days of 2018 approach, I reflect on the year that has been. What a huge time of transition it's been for me. Moving homes, renovations, moving offices, children in big developmental transitions, rapid growth in relationships and balancing a multiplicity of competing needs. It has been a very amazing and equally very intense year and this wisdom from Leunig captures it beautifully. Life is an immense and complex journey both within ourselves and with other fellow humans - be they our children, our partner, our family, our friends, our community members. As we ride the waves, finding ways to love eachother through the light as well as the shadowy times is key. It really is as simple and as complex as that! Wishing you a smooth transition into 2019 x

04.01.2022 This is a fantastic article that every parent of teens and preteens should read

03.01.2022 Falling down and getting back up again. Nature is one of our greatest teachers, mirrors and metaphors.
