This design is a nod to the man who created this style of tattoo art, Mr. Norman Keith Collins... better known as Sailor Jerry. 23.01.2022 Hey everyone! Having recently gotten married last November, Brendan and I will be taking our honeymoon shortly. We are taking a week to ourselves so as much as we love you all, we won’t be responding to any enquiries or emails just so we can fully enjoy our time together while on holidays. 22.01.2022 It's officially our last week of trading before our maternity leave begins. Sunday night I will be changing all of our website listings to 'out of stock' and will be deactivating all custom listings as we won't be taking orders as of Monday 15th Feb. Please get in touch if there is anything you are still needing as we won't be back until late Aug/early Sept depending on when little Miss decides to grace us with her arrival All orders placed beforehand will be completed as quickly as possible. I am placing an envelope order tonight, I placed a foil order yesterday and have about 8 orders currently being worked on so everything is set to be shipped within the next 2 weeks xx

22.01.2022 Morning everyone! Over our morning coffee, Brendan and I came up with how Melissa Fay Designs will combat these terrible times for our lovely customers needing to postpone their weddings. We will be offering free redesigns for any of our customers. Once the dust has settled and you have your new details, we would be honoured to get this fixed up for you. This will of course apply to any of our past or current customers. If you have paid for work, you will be able to get it am...ended. We will also be offering 30% off for current or past customers for reprinting of anything that needs to be redone through us for your new wedding date. Money is tight and times are really tough right now so hopefully this will make things a little easier during this devastating time. For all of our current orders, we can absolutely postpone on printing if you would like us to. Only a small handful of our designs are printed off-site and I'll be calling them right after this. And of course to everyone, whether you have purchased with us, are considering us in the future or are just here to see our designs - we are sending all of our love. This is such a terrible time but we will get through this together xx

21.01.2022 We have some very exciting news! Next Monday (6th Jan), Brendan and I will be launching a brand new sister business - Toot Your Own Horne Cards co. Melissa Fay Designs won't be changing - we are still 100% dedicated to creating gorgeous wedding stationery. We are just also wanting to create greeting cards without confusing what we do here. Toot Your Own Horne will specialise in professionally printed greeting cards. As 'creative genius', a fair few have terrible puns as well... I will be adding everything to Toot Your Own Horne's website this week so stay tuned! xx

21.01.2022 PROPOSALS!! How did you/your fiancé propose? Tell me your love stories Brendan promised me a picnic. He had clearly been awake far longer than I had that morning and had far too much nervous energy so the morning was him fritting about. At the picnic spot I remember being low-key annoyed as he demanded we sit in the sun when it was like 100 degrees and there was a shady tree not far away. There happened to be a boat at the shore so he asked me to go near it for a photo. Wha...t I didn't know was that our friend Kurt was hiding in the bushes photographing it all. The same picnic area where 100 6yr olds happened to also be having lunch on an excursion, so that really didn't look too great lol. Anyway, I turn around, Brendan is kneeling in a green ants nest and asking me to be his wife. I obviously said yes, after a few moments looking around wondering if I was imagining it all. Im pretty sure the tattoo on his knee never recovered from the bites but all the little kids were cheering for us, super cute!! See more

20.01.2022 :: WEDDING CLOSURE DATES:: Hey everyone! I just wanted to check in and let you all know that from next Wednesday we will be taking a short break while we get married! Our closure dates are: 13th Nov - 17th Nov with Monday being our first day back. ... This won't affect any of our current orders - we just need a few days beforehand to triple check everything/get the last minute things sorted of which there are many I'll probably be flitting about responding to urgent emails or messages for a day or two to stave off the nerves but any communication after Friday morning will be responded to on the following Monday when we re-open. 19.01.2022 :: WEDDING CLOSURE DATES :: With our own wedding only 2 months away, I wanted to give everyone a good amount of notice that Brendan and I will be taking from Wednesday 13th November through to Sunday 17th November off so we can get the last of our wedding prep finished. We aren't taking our honeymoon for a few months so will be back the following week but no designs or printing will be completed during the 13th Nov - 17th Nov. We have about a 3 week turnaround so any orders placed a few weeks in advance won't be affected xx

16.01.2022 Thanks everyone for your support over the past 4 years! We are officially on maternity leave and won't be accepting new orders until we return in late August/early September :) Our website is still up and running so you can still look but I have set everything to 'out of stock'. For all current orders - I have ordered the last of everything so am just waiting on envelopes for a few orders but will be shipped later this week or early next week depending on how quickly they arr...ive to me. 15.01.2022 During this uncertain time, our smallest employees Georgina and Penelope wanted to check in and let you all know that everything is going to be okay, even if its all a bit scary right now. It's business as always here at Melissa Fay Designs. Its taking me a few extra days to get everything done with a peak immediately before this pandemic hit but all of our suppliers are completely fine as is AusPost so just wanted to touch base and let you all know that everything is on schedule. 04.01.2022 I've been a little busy getting orders printed and packed this past fortnight so have missed a few milestones! Brendan and I celebrated 1 year of marriage, I turned 31 and our business also turned 4! When I started our business back in 2016, I had absolutely no idea of how big it would grow and how much joy it would bring me. Now I'm staring down a few months away from it for maternity leave starting in Feb and I know I will miss the everyday parts of it right away. 03.01.2022 Together, designing and motivational words have pulled me out of some of the hardest times in my life. I actually built Melissa Fay Designs in the midst of a huge breakup about 4 years ago. I'd sit and design for 18hrs a day, 7 days a week to keep my mind busy. I had to leave my life behind and move back in with my amazing parents so I just focused on what was in front of me and that was this business. I held onto what I could until everything else fell back into a routine. A...nd so again, all these years later with so much more to hold onto, I am designing and reading motivational words. I will be adding a Wall Art section to our website over the coming days. Many of our designs are too pretty for one day, so they will be paired with a beautiful and inspiring quote. 03.01.2022 :: POSTPONED WEDDINGS:: Hey everyone! I've just done up a few drafts that I wanted to show to all of our current and past couples needing to postpone their weddings. These are of course completely free of charge and will be available as a PDF for you to get out to your guests ASAP once you have a new wedding date. Here is a 'Save the Date' version if you only have a date, and a 'Reception' version once you have all your new details. You can have one or the other, or both - th...is is all very stressful and as a very recent past bride, I don't want anyone to feel more stressed during all of this. Just let me know when you are ready (please take time for yourself, Im not going anywhere so don't rush if you're not ready to conquer all of this) and I will cross reference you against my orders and get everything made up to suit your original designs. I have the bulk of the info on hand on my hard drive so don't stress about finding names of designs or past copies of everything etc, we've got your back. We've also got almost 100 design suites on our website now too, so if your original design isn't you anymore, I'm very happy to use one of our other designs for your postponed details. 03.01.2022 Brendan and I got our teaser video back from our wedding last night! I remember when planning our wedding we were a little indecisive about needing a videographer. So many couples also struggle with this so I wanted to weigh in to make life a little easier. If you have it in your budget to do so or are a little unsure - I would 110% recommend getting one. 03.01.2022 Hey everyone! Just stopping by to share a photo of our baby daughter Annabelle as promised she was born 2wks early, on March 1st, making her 6wks old yesterday! She was a tiny 2.5kg, 49cm long and had so much hair! Brendan and I couldn't be more in love with her. Annabelle is such a chill baby - she sleeps and feeds so well that I will actually be coming back from maternity leave a little earlier than I initially said I would. I still need to work it out properly but a month early sounds about right. I'll update everything once I've worked it all out :) Love Melissa, Brendan and Annabelle xx

02.01.2022 At Melissa Fay Designs we have three printing styles - standard printing, full colour printing and foil printing. We offer two types of cardstock with our designs. Why two? We have two different printing methods and we have narrowed down a very long list of beautiful cardstocks until we found the very best of their class for the equipment being used. For our standard printing, we use a beautiful 270gsm textured cardstock that gives a beautiful watercolour effect with a gorgeo...us indented feel. They are paired with matching 118gsm envelopes. For our full colour printing and foil printing, we use a silky smooth 300gsm cardstock that has a beautiful feel while giving a flawless finish. The smooth feel allows for the foil to adhere perfectly to the cardstock. We pair this cardstock with matching 100gsm envelopes. Most of our designs can be printed with foil text. We currently have gold, rose gold, silver and dusty pink on hand in our foil colours. Envelope liners and wax seals add a gorgeous addition and really make our wedding stationery ‘pop’.
