24.01.2022 What else is there to do in lockdown than to do a little internal emotional renovation? Here's a review I did on the Brene Brown and Harriet Lerner podcast special on how to apologise.
22.01.2022 I met some wonderful online community managers writing this piece. As the University of Melbourne's Jennifer Beckett says, they are the people who make sure the Internet is a nice place for us. Well, they at least try. The good ones are worth their weight in gold: they have great negotiation skills, clear communication and high emotional intelligence for conflict resolution. We should value them more, I reckon. And we should have a think about what makes the online space a tricky place for civility.
20.01.2022 It feels like I started this story in a different era - before quarantine stuff ups, before the virus spread silently through suburbs and families, before the scary numbers of COVID-19 cases we are seeing every day. Back then I was keen to look at how Dan Andrews had become so powerful and successful; whether you love him or hate him - or something in between - there's no denying he's a formidable premier with a strong legacy of reform and infrastructure building. I hope the piece still does that, but it also tracks the way the pandemic turned, and the enormous pressure that is now on him every day.
19.01.2022 I probably spent too much time thinking about this spider, but that is what Lockdown 2.0 does to you! Anyway, you know the saying: write about what you know. Or perhaps hate. https://www.theage.com.au//fangs-for-that-learning-to-live
16.01.2022 These two brothers were so inspiring to interview. So much love between them amid terrible tragedy. https://www.smh.com.au//i-will-always-look-after-grant-fro
10.01.2022 We all need a laugh right now. A little review I did of Hamish Blake’s Instagram series Zoom for one more https://www.smh.com.au//hamish-blake-he-s-here-he-s-there-
