Each follicle/ pore contains or has the ability to grow one (or sometimes more) shaft of hair. Each pore contains its own sebaceous gland, which produces oil (sebum) and contributes to the skins natural protective barrier. This is why pores are typically more visible through the center of the face as it contains the highest amount of sebaceous activity. Maybe your born wi...th it People who have inherited oily skin are likely to have larger pores because they contain and release more oil. Controlling the oil flow and ensuring the quality of the oil remains thin and liquid (as opposed to waxy) will ensure the oil doesn’t block the pore making it appear larger.Oil is not the enemy. A diet high in Essential Fatty Acids and good quality skincare will ensure your oil stays liquid and doesn’t resemble a candle stick. Sun lover = larger pores UV exposure damages our collagen, causing skin to lose its bounce. As the collagen is destroyed the pores dilate; we lose the firmness and our pores get more visible. UV damage also causes inflammation and thickening of the outer most layer of the epidermis,the stratum corneum which makes the follicles more visible.
