20.01.2022 WORLD HEARING VOICES DAY WHD celebrates Hearing Voices as part of the diversity of human experience, increasing awareness of the fact that you can hear voices and be healthy. It challenges the negative attitudes towards people who hear voices and the incorrect assumption that hearing voices, in itself, is a sign of illness. World Hearing Voices Day is celebrated each and every year on 14th September. Organisations and groups across the globe will hold a variety of events today to help raise awareness of hearing voices. 09.01.2022 Due to the Covid19 virus the rates of people experiencing Paranoia in and out of psychiatric care is at an all time high. We have been commissioned by some heal...th services in the UK to train mental health staff on how to use the Maastricht Interview for Problematic Thoughts, Beliefs & Paranoia. To equip them with the skills to be able to understand someones experiences and work with their belief system, we are the only organisation that delivers this training (The National Paranoia Network). I wondered if your organisation might be interested in us delivering the training for your service when things are a little safer. If you are interested you can email us at [email protected] See more

05.01.2022 I think this says it all . Those who suffer from relationship trauma desperately need healthy connection to get well but it feels so frightening to do so . Be kind and be safe for someone who is wanting to take a risk and reconnect it may save their life .

04.01.2022 DRAGONFLY DAY TODAY What a cracker of a day at beautiful South Cronulla for our DFD walk. Just a small group due to covid but just magic.... MRF Team

03.01.2022 DRAGONFLY DAY 2020 This Sunday 2nd August is Dragonfly Day 2020, a day we celebrate each and every year to raise awareness of people with lived experience of Hearing Voices, Paranoia and their links to Childhood trauma. This year, given Covid 19 restrictions, we unfortunately are unable to hold our community walk and other activities in the park as we have done in past years. Instead, the MRF team (only) will do the walk, once again at beautiful Cronulla, and we encourage oth...ers to do a short walk in their own area (in compliance with restrictions) to show their support for the cause. Also, if you know someone with lived experience, give them a call on Sunday to let them know you are thinking of them - it will mean a lot. MRF Team

03.01.2022 TOM TILLEY - TRIPLE J Tom is is his last week at Triple J after 12 years, the last 8 as host of their very popular "Hack" program. Tom is taking up a new role with the 10 Network in 2020 as part of "The Project" team. Our relationship with Tom goes way back to 2009 when he did a story on Mel for the Hack Program. Tom was also "master of ceremonies" at the launch of the Foundation back in July 2012.... Over the past 10 years Tom has been a strong advocate for mental health reform in Australia and has "shaken plenty of trees" along the way by asking the tough questions and creating awareness of the key issues for reform through his work at Triple J. This week on Hack Tom has been reflecting on those stories over the years that have had the greatest impact on him and the hack team, with Mel's story top of the list. Below is a link to Monday's program where Tom talks about Mel's story and other issues around mental health. (The pertinent sections are the first minute and the from the 19 minute 30 second mark.) https://www.abc.net.au/triplej/programs/hack/hack/11763658 The team at the MRF wish Tom every success in his new role, and thank him sincerely for his support of the Foundation over the years, and the fantastic work he has done in promoting mental health reform. We look forward to continuing our relationship into the future. MRF Team

02.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS The team at the MRF would like to wish everybody a very happy and safe Christmas. We hope that you have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends during these challenging times.... Please also remember that Christmas can be a sad and difficult time for many people for a variety of reasons. If you know someone who struggles at this time of year, reach out and help them through it. Again, stay safe, and thank you for your support of the MRF during 2020. We look forward to 2021 and the hope that it brings.
