16.01.2022 Olympics Update

13.01.2022 Introducing the third winner of my inaugural Aspley Local Legend Awards - Tara King for her involvement with Marchant Park Kindergarten - Geebung. Tara was nominated by Emma, who said: "Tara King has been a very active and strong contributor to the Marchant Park Kindy community over the last three years. She has held a few different positions on the P&C over the years and is currently the sitting president. Her efforts go over and above what is required in the role and she... basically works full time hours supporting the kindy. She has been proactive this year in the community and organising various maintenance projects at the kindy. Her efforts are truly appreciated and I believe she deserves to be recognised for her hard work." Recently, I visited Marchant Park and saw firsthand how much of a difference Tara was making and her dedication to making Marchant Park Kindy a better place. I was impressed to see their new recycling hub which is a great initiative which recycles bottle caps for Lids for Kids and the bread tags for wheelchairs. Tara is a well deserving of the title Aspley Local Legend.

02.01.2022 It was great to drop into Soldier On’s Pathways To Employment networking event last night, hosted by B&R Enclosures . It was a really great night linking veterans with employers, training providers and other support services. Better utilising their skills to get a head start in their next career. Well done to all involved!
