23.01.2022 , ? & Tara & Torben knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. A small & relaxed gathering with their nearest & dearest. The only catch, they also wanted to say their I dos as soon as they could! Legally in Australia, you must submit a Notice of Intended Marriage at least 30 days before your wedding date. So once this was submitted, it was full speed ahead in t...he planning department for Tara & Torbens special day. Tara & Torben had a clear vision of how they wanted their wedding day to look & feel, but were also conscious of their wedding budget. We worked closely together over the month to ensure their wedding was within their budget, but also created ideas in line with their ultimate wedding vision. The result was breathtaking with their ceremony at the foot of Mount Major & their reception on their family property in Shepparton. 20.01.2022 Elopement vs Micro Wedding: Whats the difference? There can be a little confusion around the types of weddings. Now more than ever, I think its important to understand the difference as one may be the answer to your wedding planning in the next 12-18 months. Understanding the difference between an elopement & a micro wedding makes the planning process much easier for you. ... Both include simplistic yet romantic ceremonies & can take place anywhere, but there is a couple of key differences to be aware of. ELOPEMENT The guest list is small & the occasion kept a secret. Usually less than 10 guests or in some cases, no guests at all, except for the celebrant & witnesses. There is no reception. Once the ceremony is over, its over. Theres no food served, first dances, or cutting of the cake. No reception means the added costs that are found in catering, music & venue are eliminated. 19.01.2022 " ?" For those who are new to my page (and also those who have been following me for a while now) I thought this was a great question to share with you all. It's a name I am so used to, and I often don't think twice about where it originated. So here's the short but sweet story, of how Mellyrain Events was created ... For those who don't know, my first name is Melanie and my middle name is Lorraine (can you see where this is going?) Growing up, my older sister gave me the nickname of 'Mellyrain' and to this day she still calls me this. It's a sister thing and I love it When I started Mellyrain Events, I wanted a business name that was personal to me without being my full name, but also had a unique touch that differed to anyone else in the biz. I went back and forth on potential business names and when my sister casually called me Mellyrain one day, the lightbulb moment occurred, and I knew that was the name I wanted for my business. So with that, Mellyrain Events was born! 18.01.2022 Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase The latest Victorian restrictions has brought what I think is the most upsetting blow to everyone in the wedding industry - couples, families, suppliers, everyone! The announcement of no weddings in Metropolitan Melbourne is a disheartening realisation for so many in the industry. Ill say it... It completely & totally sucks! ... While the rest of Victoria returns to Stage 3 restrictions with weddings allowed to proceed with a maximum of 5 people (the couple, the celebrant & 2 witnesses), Melbournes Stage 4 restrictions affects us all across Victoria. We are all riding this crazy 2020 roller coaster of uncertainty, mixed with intense emotions of frustration, sadness, heartache & upheaval. Its full on! But, now more than ever, we must focus on what we can control & take one day at a time. We must stay positive & supportive of everyone around us to get us all through the next chapter of this crazy time. Moving forward the entire wedding industry may look a little different, but I can promise all the couples waiting for their special day to arrive that when your day comes, it WILL be amazing & it WILL be fabulous! Get creative with your surrounding...s! All properties will have unique surroundings you can utilise to create one of a kind settings for your wedding. Using existing elements of a property such as trees, paved areas or even the old wooden barn will give you the opportunity to create a wedding atmosphere like to no other. 04.01.2022 . A few weeks ago I asked you ? It is clear from the newly released road map to recovery in Victoria, weddings are going to be completely different for months so these concerns may still be on your mind! ... Its not ideal (obviously) & while I dont have all the answers, Ive put together some thoughts on the most common concerns I received to hopefully help you ease some stress as we move into the next phase of this pandemic. While weddings are now not banned (YAY!) the reality is that if you want to get married during this pandemic, your day will look a bit different to what you dreamed of. My advice is to be open to alternate options, a more "less is more" approach. ? The nation-wide directive is to follow social distancing guidelines at weddings, which means remaining 1.5 metres away from others. So while technically it means that a dance floor could happen, theres got to be a lot of space. This may also be dependent on how many guests you have & if a dance floor is really needed. ? Not necessarily. This depends on what your future plans are for your wedding. Its likely that your venue & suppliers will honour their pricing & allow you to push back your date. You just need to ask the question. For many couples your hands are tied here & it depends on where you live in Victoria. You may need to cut your guest numbers, but the thing is, they will understand! It has been months of this pandemic roller coaster so theres every chance your guests are expecting the email. ? So many of my clients begin their wedding experience with buckets of excitement however, they soon find themselves overwhelmed with the amount of planning required to bring their wedding day together.
