21.01.2022 Welcome to our visitors! What a fantastic day to be enjoying the great outdoors in our beautiful little town!

20.01.2022 check out this photo from the Archives at Melrose. it is the Melrose Strawberry Fete c.1910. have been doing some research and records show 1949 there was a Met...hodist Strawberry Fete and Mr Herb Eye used to provide the strawberries for the fetes. (he lived in the house alongside the Melrose school) . in 1958 there were definitely yearly Strawberry Fetes occurring at the Melrose Institute and they involved stalls, a lucky dip for the kids, and strawberries of course. The highlight of the evening was a concert where visiting artists came as well as the local talent who participated. this concert was eventually managed by the Melrose Primary School students but not sure for how long and what year they took over and what year they folded. checking with Institute records the strawberry fetes were the major fundraiser for the Institute. still searching for the year these folded. the strawberry fete has been brought to life again in the Melrose Institute in the last few years. Held on a Sunday and has stalls and of course the strawberries. anyone who can give me information or photos would be much appreciated as would be great to have a record in the Archives for future generations. many thanks Liz Bishop (Secretary)

20.01.2022 This year our Strawberry Fete is turning into a weekend of entertainment! We will be holding a ROCKNROLL DANCE (Oct 31st) the evening before the Strawberry Fete, with DJ Ron & special guests from Adelaide rock n roll clubs! Stay tuned for more details of this fantastic weekend!

19.01.2022 What a great spot to watch the world go by and listen to the Kookaburras laugh, and wed have to agree with @melrose_sthn_flinders_ranges on this one. You never... know what youll find when exploring the back roads through townships as stunning as this! Melrose is the oldest regional town in SA, established in 1839 it represents an important part of police history for our state. Today, you can visit the Melrose Heritage Museum and adventure into the past. Discover the history of this unique area by visiting the authentic exhibitions and audio visual presentations that tell the story of opening the north of South Australia with the establishment of the police and judicial presence at this site.
