25.01.2022 Did you know that Melrose has a book exchange? Located under the veranda of the RSL Room, you can either swap, take or place books free of charge at your own leisure! Have you used this initiative of the MCDA yet?

18.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone that attended our Remembrance Day service held at the monument on Monday. It was well attended with over 50 people. Thank you to those who participated with the readings, set up and any other contributions, but a special thank you to Murray Koster who led the organising of the event, it was a wonderful commemorative service. 18.01.2022 We are coming back together! Our meetings have been cancelled for the past couple months due to COVID-19, but we are getting back in the swing of things to get some of our key projects off the ground. Our next meeting will be next Tuesday, 16 June 2020 at 7:30pm in the RSL Community Room. Watch this space as we put our work together :)

15.01.2022 How beautiful is our town!

14.01.2022 In conjunction with the Melrose Hall Committee, the MCDA have been working on giving the Melrose Hall Kitchen a much needed facelift! Thanks to Rowan Ramsey and the Stronger Communities Programme for the dollar for dollar grant money to enable the community to improve this space so we can keep utilising such a versatile facility within our town. Improvements that have been made:... - installation of new flooring - new stainless steel bench - two exhaust fans over the ovens MCDA do quite a bit of catering/fundraising out of the this space and acknowledge the importance to keep this space functionable.

14.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came out to our Remembrance Day service today. It was well attended with approximately 50 adults and 30 children from the Melrose Primary School. Special mention to Murray Koster for your involvement in organising and leading our service. Lest We Forget!

08.01.2022 Melrose Community Development Association wish to advise that the 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on the 17th September 2019 starting at 7:30pm in the RSL Community Room. This is a brilliant chance to get involved with your community and contribute to making a positive difference. All welcome - hope to see you there.

07.01.2022 With all that's been going on, we too have been pretty quiet during this Covid-19 period. The committee is deferring our monthly meeting until June - keep an eye out after that as we kick start our 2020 projects!

06.01.2022 This year our Strawberry Fete is turning into a weekend of entertainment! We will be holding a ROCK'N'ROLL DANCE (Oct 31st) the evening before the Strawberry Fete, with DJ Ron & special guests from Adelaide rock n roll clubs! Stay tuned for more details of this fantastic weekend!

05.01.2022 You couldn't have got better weather for our 2018 Melrose Christmas in the Park which was a great success! Thank you to those who came in and enjoyed the night - we enjoyed hosting the event. Shout out to Father Christmas who was kind enough to fit us in his busy schedule in the lead up to Christmas.

05.01.2022 Tremendous news that grant money has been sourced to keep the Melrose Monument looking tops!

04.01.2022 The MCDA have been so lucky to secure a few grants recently to maintain and improve some of our amazing facilities in Melrose. At our meeting last night, we discussed our current projects that have been possible with the assistance of grant funding. Recarpet the RSL building - with funds from Council's Community Assistance Grants we have been able to put that finishing touch to the facelift to a community facility after MCDA had the interior and exterior walls repainted ...earlier in the year. Re-roof the RSL building - thanks to the Federal Government $1mil Drought Communities Programme we are able to ensure the longevity of a fantastic little space by putting a new lid on the old girl. New fence for Paradise Square - also thanks to the Drought Communities Programme we were able to secure some money to erect a more child friendly fence around Paradise Square Revamp to the Melrose Districts Hall Kitchen - through the Stronger Communities Programme we are partnering with the Hall Committee and giving the hall kitchen a bit of a spruce up by installing some exhaust fans above the stoves and improving some of the working bench tops. Please note that the RSL Community Room is currently closed due to our improvements. Its a busy time for our little working group as we keep working towards making our fantastic town an even better place to live and play.

In conjunction with National Volunteers Week, the MCDA would like to thank the dedicated mob of volunteers who love our town and contribute in any way.
